Oh So Sweet

Morning folks.....another glorious sunny morning...I am loving this weather....makes you feel so good and am I a happy bunny...have to share with you two beautiful sweet cards I received this week from two extra special little fellas

From JACOB.......who's 3......

and BEN.........who's  coming up 3

Oh I was tickled pink and aren't they so cute
A big Thank You BOYS....they have pride of place on the dresser in the kitchen
Now I must admit to being a little bit nervous of sharing the next one with you all....as you all know I don't use Magnolias....Tildas or Sugar Nellies on my cards......WHY....well they aren't really my scene BUT....when I see the beautiful cards you can make with them.....maybe the old gal is going to have a change of heart..and I received the most gorgeous folder with lots of images from my fabby bloggy bud Dawny well it would have been so rude not to use them.
I am a big fan of 3 extra special.....uber talented ladies and no prizes for guessing who....
BEV.....KIM and RACH
I am googled eyed everytime I visit their blogs....their talent is just phenomenal....so I thought if I am going to have a go......learn from the experts and what I find fascinating is that they all use different colouring mediums....so what does that tell you....doesn't matter what medium you are using...it's just learning the techniques.  I don't own any copics and use Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads for most of my colour work but the principles of shading...highlighting.....where the light is coming from etc  are the same although I must admit....after watching the fabulous COPIC tutorial on RACH'S blog...I may just have to invest...she makes it look so easy.  If you are a copic owner....you must pop over and watch this one....you will learn so much and a big thank you Rach....for sharing this with us all....I know the amount of time and work this must have taken to put together.
So here we go......
Papers: From my all time favourite K & Co.
Blue Awning Collection
Image: Sugar Nellie.. Gorjuss Girls..Sent With Love
Flowers: Prima...Artful Collage
Ribbon: Maya Road
Self Adhesive Pearls from my stash
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads....Brushed Corduroy...Faded Jeans..
Weathered Wood....Walnut Stain
I don't profess to have even a smidgen of these girls talent.....but I had a go and am quite pleased with the result.....but the most important thing....I tried and I had fun and that is what crafting is all about.   So you may be seeing some more of these gorjuss girls in the future.
Well that's it for today folks.....playtime is over and it's back to the DT stuff.....back tomorrow with some sneaky peeks of what I have been working on lately.....YES the brand new CD from FUNKY HAND
to be premiered on Ideal World on 27th April at 6.00pm.    I am loving this one....I know I say that everytime......I guess I am just A BIG FUNKY HAND FAN.....love all of Anice's fabby designs.
But first I am off to sit in the sun with a cup of coffee and just enjoy the early morning sunshine and the peace and quiet......Catch up with you all later.....Hugs Kath xxxxxxx

  1. This is beautiful Kath - love your colouring on the Gorjuss Girl! I have to admit...I'm a bit scared of Tilda...I don't know why she looks odd without a mouth...and the Gorjuss Gils dont?!

  5. Great work kath and the Gorjuss girl looks stunning! I love the shade of blue you have used. Great shading!I agree with you..it is not the medium that you are using..you can learn to colour with any medium if you know how to colour..that is the hard bit !!
    Enjoy the sunshine,

  13. Hehehe Jacob will be so pleased to see his card on your blog! Not bad colouring for a 3 year old! This is the first time I've seen the card as it was in the envelope when nursery gave it to me. I think Samuel is making you a scarf - his giraffe is getting the one in progress, so you may have to wait!!

  15. Kath It's lovely. We have one Magnolia in our house and it's not popular. Why? DH does not like them 'cos they've NO MOUTH.I find them a little strange too BUT I did use mine and was forced to add a mouth. It took ages to get it looking right. I didn't useed to do twee but I didn't do Japanese either at one time! The boys have done well and that's the biggest kick I get from crafting-passing it on and sharing XXXXhugs
