It's Me...just for a change

Morning folks...oooh...it's looking decidedly wintry this morning...it's been snowing...is this is the start of winter...yes it's me for a change and I am still here running around like a headless chicken trying to get all those Christmas jobs done...cake is baked but still has to be marzipaned and iced...hopefully over the weekend
Not a lot of crafty stuff going on but I did manage to make some tags for kiddywinks Christmas presents.
Don't know if you have noticed but I haven't had a rant for ages...the old girl must be getting soft in her old age but yesterday sent my rant levels through the roof...couldn't upload any pics to my blog...Mr Blogger up to his old tricks again I thought but no...it turns out I have used up all the 1GB free storage in my Google account and I need to upgrade...another 20GB for $5.75...£3.74 in our money...no problem I thought...entered all my details but my M&S Credit Card wouldn't work...tried 3 times and each time it was rejected...blimey there is no way I am up to my limit or I blinking well better run and hide now. Contacted M&S Customer Services and lo and behold...they have done it again...oh yes £3.74 is a suspicious amount so they blocked it. I suppose I should be grateful that they are vigilant but do they honestly think that if somebody has got access to my credit card...they are only going to spend £3.74...give me a break folks.   After endless security questions...when was the last time I used my card and what for...don't they know I have difficulty remembering what I did 10 minutes ago...eventually got it sorted out and we are back in business with the piccie uploading but it was a whole morning wasted in the mad dash to get Christmas organised. Don't you just love technology...great but only when it works.
"The Budster" will be back tomorrow with the winner of his give-away and another one...this time a bumper box of goodies... am beginning to think I may have no stash left but am not too worried...what a great excuse to have a crafty splurge after Christmas and hey I think I had better make it a hefty amount...just in case M&S are up to their old tricks again...well must dash...still got my Penny Black Saturday card to make for this week.
Big Hugs Kath xxx

  5. Hi Kath,
I'm glad you got things sorted out in the end - why do simple things have to be made so difficult!
Your cake has made my mouth water, please let us see some pics when it is decorated. Great tags too.

  7. The pic of that beautiful cake caught my eye this morning, yummy or what!! Love the tags you have made for the kids. It takes some getting used to the 21st century technology, if I didn't need it so much it would be out the window lol.

Got to tell you M&S is one of things I miss most from home - a tear came to my eyy when you mentioned them....... Don't talk to me about internet issues ... I have a love hate relationship with my provider - They're sick of hearing me complain I'm sure!!!!

  9. Know what you mean about M&S! I think my suspect amount was about £2.50 but it was on a site for a dollar transaction so maybe it is something to do with that rather than the amount? Who knows!

  11. love your tags Kath and I agree with your rant. it is this time of year when we are all using our cards more that maybe some odd transactions would go unnoticed. Your christmas cake looks lovely, I wish I could pop in for a slice I love christmas cake and haven't had home made for years!!

  13. Love the tags Kath. I'm telling myself that I don't need many tags as I'm making gift card holders and cards to hold money for nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Maybe for my kids too or maybe not if I run out of time!!
Cake looks great. I used to always make one and dozens of mince pies and apple pies (for the one who doesn't like mince pies). Gave up cake when it didn't even got cut on Christmas day and then everyone disappeared and only 2 of us left to eat it! Poor me this year I need to work every day next week. Looks like I need to do housework and desserts on Christmas eve afternoon and evening unless the Christmas elf who has lots more hols than me can get out the hoover and duster lol!!

  14. cute wee tags Kath, I don't know where you get your energy from - I'm knackered just reading what you do lol
In M&S's defence I have to say that people who steal credit card info and use your details do tend to use them initially for a small transaction - just to check it works before they go on to annihalate your account. Graham and I have had our bank cards cloned a couple of times now and that's what happened - the cheeky swines used Graham's card details to pay the congestion charge in London!!
    Have a great day quine

  24. Kath, It is a pain but they did pick up a suspicious amount of under £2 recently followed by £350 that I hadn't spent so I am grateful for their vigilance.

Someone had cloned my card, I still had it, tried it and it wouldn't work, thought here we go again - then they phoned me!
