Let's Have Some Fun

Morning folks....I think it's time for some fun....I know I said a few days back that I love snow....well the novelty has well and truly worn off......I'm beginning to feel a little bit stir crazy here....I just want it to go now but that won't be happening anytime soon ....the stuff is now rock solid after days of freezing temperatures......-7.5 yesterday at midday but much much colder during the night....check out the icicles hanging from the guttering.

I have noticed on some blogs recently folks are measuring the amount of snow they've had...well there is no show without Punch....so I decided to check just how much has fallen at chez Kath since just before Christmas and the best place was the patio table where the snow has lain undisturbed ever since.    Now this may come as a bit of a shock.....but I don't own a 12" ruler....so using the next best thing....my trusty Fiskars 12" Cutting Mat

and more forecast for this week......
I must admit I am feeling a bit cooped up in the house.....no long walks with "The Budster"...even he is fed up of wading through the deep snow.....so let's have a bit of fun......why don't you go out and measure the snow outside your home.....post a pic on your blog....leave me a comment here so I can come visit and at the end of the week... if I am not buried under mountains of snow....will be sending goodie parcels off in the post to two names chosen at random.

COME JOIN IN THE FUN
Hugs Kath xxxxxx

  2. Hi Kath,
Our snow doesn't compare to yours, only about and inch or two left now.
Please don't walk under those icicles!

  3. Hi Kath - our snow is melting really fast now and I think we had about 8" max so no comparison to what you've still got there. I did post a picture of a huge icicle I had hanging from our guttering yesterday and it reached to below the sill of the bathroom window if you want to have a look! Your icicles are very 'neat' and tidy lol.

  7. I'm in the sunny souther US. So no snow here. But it's very cold. It's been in the 20's here at night. So I can't join in the fun, but I would love to see who has the deepest snow! So I'll be watching.

  8. Hi Kath,

All your pictures look amazing, but I can imagine that it must be just such hard work to do anything at the moment. My picture of the snow down in Devon are here

  9. We've had plenty of snow but are in the middle of a big thaw now so no inches to measure. Good job too, I really can not stand snow and never have.

  11. Hi Kath, not sure how much snow we have had here but I've just read your post now and it has been thawing all day. We are a little off the road here - a farm track leads out to our drive and my husband got stuck in his works van as it was sinking in the snow. So I had to leave my car at the side of my neighbour's house at the end of the track. Funny isn't it we could get in and out to the house when there was ice with a lot of snow on top!! My Lab is so daft that she goes for walks whatever the conditions!

  15. Oh Kath, I feel for you. We have just started to get nice weather here in Queensland Australia. We've had rain every day since before Christmas & where going stir crazy. But that doesn't compare to what you are going through at all. Sending warm hugs from Down Under xoxoxoxoxo

  18. no blog, so I can not post a picture - but we have about 3 inches left at this point - we have not gotten a big snow dump this year - but it has been cold - it is supposed to get close to freezing today (we have been below) and tomorrow they say a bit above freezing! I hope soon, our driveway is frozen ice at this point!
    Hang in there!

  19. This is us at the moment, no where near as much snow as usual, I think we're in an El Nino year or something like that, they mentioned it on the radio. We have about 6" at the moment:

  21. Hi Kath,
Not snow much fun now is it!! We still have lots of snow! so much that diggers and lorries are ferrying it away now so we can get back to some kind of normal!!
The slight thaw is causing probs too!! my guttering has fallen off and brackets broken etc. but it can all be fixed :0)
I took some photos yesterday to share, hope you like them. There are more further down my blog too!!
