Just for Fun

Morning folks....I just happened to be having a little playtime in the cubbyhole the other day with some of my new crafting goodies and thought I would share this one ...because there are so many folks who would love to have a go at Tim Holtz's techniques but they are under the impression that it will all turn out dark and grungy.....and how many of you ordered his TSV from QVC and as yet haven't got round to using it....well come on girls....don't be shy....just get in there and have fun....what's the worst that can happen...you have to throw away a bit of card.    And just to prove that you don't have to get down and dirty if you don't want to....you can do just slightly grungy.....using my favourite new must have.....Sticky Back Canvas from Claudine Hellmuth.....I love..love...love  it.....so easy to colour or stamp on.

Hero Arts...Big Flower
Artistic Borders
and my favourite Hero Arts stamp....Old Letter Writing
Ribbon: Maya Road
Buttons: Basic Grey

And a little explanation.....fray the edges of the canvas and ink with Brushed Corduroy...I don't remove the backing until I have finished decorating the canvas.   Ink up a brayer with TH Distress Ink....Pumice Stone and roll over the canvas......stamp the script image on top with the same ink.....and then just in the two corners with the stamp inked with black....if you don't have a brayer just gently pull the ink pad over the canvas.
Stamp the Hero Arts stem onto the canvas with Versafine Black Onyx...then take a separate piece of canvas and colour one section with Mustard Seed and the other with Shabby Shutters....just rub the ink pad over the canvas to colour it....and then stamp the flower and leaves with black ink pad.  Stick these sections to grunge paper....cut out the flowers and leaves....and fix to the canvas using 3D foam pads.
Now you can remove the backing from the canvas and stick to your card blank.....a little tip....only remove the top section of the backing paper until you get it lined up and then pull the backing paper towards you and smooth the canvas down.
Go on live dangerously....break out your TH goodies and have a go.....I would love to see what you create....and boy oh boy did I have a super fun day yesterday with my gorgeous hooligans....it was a bit of a colouring-in kinda day....will share tomorrow.
Hugs Kath xxx

Edited to add: for all those who have e-mailed about the Sticky Back Canvas....you can get it from Art from the Heart.....along with all Tim's goodies

I must get into the Tim Holtz craze -at the moment I don't have any distress inks, or indeed any of his products - bet I could knock you down with a feather with that admission!!!
