Papertake Weekly Challenge...Sketch 38

Morning folks...isn't this weather glorious....it's going to be another day in the garden for me....oh no...not sitting soaking up the sun....no such luck...there is still lots of work to be done.
But before I chase off and get down and dirty with nature....I have a card to share for one my favourite challenges ...Papertake Weekly  and this week is another fabby sketch from my lovely bloggy bud....Dawny P.   I can't believe that it's 2 weeks since we were meeting up at the NEC....and having a ball.

I so wanted to use this beautiful sweet image for this card but thought I might have to abandon the idea when I couldn't find any paper in the same tones.....the good news is my Dusty Concord Distress Ink Pad is an exact match....who would have thought that Tim Holtz would come to the rescue.....the bad news....my fingers are now a rather strange colour of brown and purple....but as I am destined for a mucky day in the garden and I can't find my gardening gloves...guess who has a guilty look on his face (he has a habit of picking things up and not remembering where he puts them)...it's nothing that a dunking in a hot tub later won't fix...that's for sure.
And HELLO BUD....what can I say....didn't win the Grand National.....but hey he gave it his best shot....up with the front runners right from the start and well done to his 17 year old jockey...his first time round Aintree.....for steering them both safely home.....sadly pipped at the post by the maestro himself....Tony McCoy.....champion jockey umpteen times....15 Grand National rides and at last he did it....for a man who usually shows little emotion....you could tell how much it meant to him.....there is no other race in the world like the Grand National.......you can have the best horse and jockey in the world but in the words of that famous Liverpool lass....you also need A LORRA LORRA LUCK to run flat out for 4 miles....jump 30 fences and make it home safe....and thankfully they all did.
And I loved that stubborn "throwing his toys out of the pram" fella that held up the start....had to be coaxed to approach the line and then dug his heels in and just stood there when they all took off at the gallop...well you've heard that saying "you can take a horse to water...but you can't make it drink"...just goes to prove to all those who say that racing is cruel.....there is nothing on this earth that will make half a ton of horse do what it doesn't want to do....something that all those riders...me included....who have found themselves rather unceremoniously unseated because the horse didn't want to play ball.....can relate to.
