Moaning Minnie's Tale of Woe

Morning folks and I am in a philosophical Moaning Minnie mood this morning....this blinking cold thing may be getting to me...but I can't believe how quickly time passes....so much to do and never enough hours in a day.    Apologies to all my lovely bloggy buddies who have been sadly neglected in the visiting department recently along with my favourite challenges and just when you need your mates for a bit of support...the cowardly Mr Mojo has run for the hills at the first sign of the sniffles and true to form Mr Blogger is having the odd tantrum or two....but what's new.
That's life folks and it doesn't look as though there will be any let up between now and Christmas....it's scary that we are now careering headlong towards the big day and in between now and then I have to fit in all the usual crafty stuff....4 days of Fiskars Fun at the SECC....2 workshops at Simply Create....4 family birthdays....a 7 day visit to New York...and all the manic stuff associated with Christmas...the present shopping....card making gift wrapping and then organising all the grub and preparing it...crikey I think I may just run for the hills too....but there is one consolation at the end of this month...the clocks go back and we gain an hour....use it wisely my friends.
And the reason for all this doom and gloom from your usually up beat CubbyHole Girl.....the thought that winter is fast approaching...the days are getting shorter and I hate the dark cold mornings....it's pitch black outside as I sit and type and gone are the first coffee of the day outside with The Budster and my birdie friends mornings.....but what is the solution....relocate down under for the winter months or stay in the UK and hibernate until Spring comes along.   But enough of my "feel sorry for myself tale of woe" probably brought on by the runny nose and badger's bum throat....so it's time for some upbeat crafty news.
Oodles of new stuff has arrived at Simply Create.....Anne and I had great fun rummaging through boxes of items just crying out to be altered.....a bit out of my comfort zone but totally yummy and I have so many ideas running around in my head...I can't wait to play...so watch this space.
In the meantime a sneaky peek of some stuff I am working on for a secret project coming to this blog soon...

and a morning spent die-cutting...just need to get creative now

and do you know what...I am feeling better already....just needed to clear my head and get a few things off my chest....a trouble shared is a trouble halved isn't that what they say....wonder if my new found upbeat mood along with the diet of blackcurrant honey and lemon drinks....bowls of piping hot home made soup will send Mr Nasty Cold well and truly packing.
Catch up with you all tomorrow when The Furry Boy will be announcing his give-away winner...in the meantime I am off to ponder with a cup of warming hot chocolate on one of life's little puzzles.....why do dogs never get colds and flu????
Hugs Kath xxx

  6. Take care and if you're really pressed for time you could always skip the 7 days to New York! Joking of course, it's one of the many cities on my own list of places to visit. I'm off to Rome in 2 weeks time with my mother and two sisters. Should be fun.

  8. Hope you feel better soon Kath, know what you mean these dark morning are such a bummer. Have been feeling rotten myself but one thing that has really cheered me up each morning s looking at your blog, admiring your to die for creations, and laughing at your fantastic sense of humour.

Glasgow does not know what is about to hit them, Kath has got talent and certainly has the X Factor.

  16. Funnily enough I was looking at Chewie and wondering the same thing about dogs and colds etc. Hope you're on the mend and you do have a lot to get through but 7 days in the Big Apple will be worth it.

  17. Well, I'm glad you're feeling some better! When I first read your 'moaning minnie' sentance, I thought of Moaning Myrtle, the ghost in the Harry Potter books... so I laughed. Laughing always makes me feel better. I hope your mojo is back, and the cold is sent packing by the warm comfort food and drink. Have a wonderful day.

  21. Hi Kath, hope you're feeling a bit better now. I'm really intrigued by your sneaky peeks! Glad I haven't got your cold since I'm in Crieff babysitting and not much time for being ill being in charge of a toddler and a baby lol! Both been really good but no time to craft yet. Managed to bring some stuff with me so hope to get a couple of cards made tomorrow. Catching up with visiting and DT work tonight.

    Kat xx
