It's Good News Week

Morning folks....let me start off today by setting the record straight....I did have a giggle that some of you thought that I am completely on top of the game and Christmas is under control....don't you believe it....all is calm on the surface but if the truth be told I am pedalling frantically behind the scenes just like everyone else....but hey girls Christmas will happen whether we are ready or not.....so CHILL preferably with a stiff drink and a good movie.
It's been a real good news week in the cubbyhole and hey we all need a sprinkling of good news once in a while especially as we batten down the hatches for another spell of winter weather.....first of all Simply Create...yes my favourite crafty shopping haunt has moved just along the street to 59 Main Street Alford to bigger premises....

and you will probably not believe it but I haven't been out for a visit yet...and can't see it happening before Christmas....what with the impending return to wintry weather and the fact that I am having an Amazon Christmas breakdown....oh yes the very first time I thought I would embrace technology and save myself traipsing round the shops it all goes pear shaped....what's a girl to do...hang fire and have faith in Royal Mail delivering the goodies or start all over again and end up with a pile of duplicates.....would folks notice if they got the same pressies next year.
You know by now that I am always singing the praises of the fabulously talented girls we have on the Penny Black Saturday Design Team.....well what do you know our lovely teamie Nat is one of the runners-up in Simply Cards & Papercraft Card Designer of the Year competition.....well done Nat....sending big hugs and congratulations.....I am so proud for you.
And good things really do happen in three's....my lovely buddy Anne won this month's challenge over at the Ribbon Girl Blog....can't wait to see what she creates with her delicious parcel of goodies.
And last but not least....big congratulations to MOI....yes the Christmas cards have all finally gone in the mail....let's hope they don't disappear into the Mail Black Hole that seems to be affecting the country at the moment.....for goodness sake why does everything go pear shaped when we have snow and after all that inking...stamping....writing addresses and licking those pesky envelopes.....I think I deserve a hug too but I definitely need a cuppa first because today the Cubbyhole Team...yes moi and my furry helper are tackling the tree and the decorations...why do I think this is going to be chaos.
And later I will be making more of these to hold gift cards...perfect for the "I have no idea what to get you this year" family members.....using the fabulous Envelope Template Packs from Craftwork Cards.....

and if you pop over to the Craftwork Cards Blog....the December deal today will be....Buy One Envelope Template Pack and get the other free...and P&P is only £1.95....don't miss out on grabbing yourselves a bargain.
Catch up with you all tomorrow for a little surprise.....a Guest Design spot for me.
Hugs Kath xxx

  4. Good things do happen Kath... I'm waiting for the postie too - if all else fails we can put an I.O.U. in those gorgeous gift cards.
Enjoy decorating the tree - that's my task for this afternoon too. By the way it's snowing here now near Newcastle. (they said it wouldn't arrive untill later!)

  5. Hi Kath, not much snow so far so I nipped off to Peterhead first thing and got a new baby present and some Duplo for the kids. So that's it the rest can have gift vouchers or money. We do great gift vouchers in the Post Office but Mhairi wants M&S lol!!

Off to try to get more cards done. Nearly there but also need a birthday card, a new baby card and some gift voucher or money holders. The last might turn out to be plain white envelopes if the worst comes to the worst!

  6. well you're certainly more organised than me - I had great plans for today, and they've now been put on hold as I have the kids at home today ugh.
I have this vision of you, staggering around the cubbyhole. A glass of wine in one hand being sloshed about a la Keith Floyd while you throw together some more fabulous creations haha
