A very sad day

Morning folks...a decidedly sad day in the cubbyhole....came home to the news that a dear friend has lost his battle with cancer and time for me to make the very hard decision to step down from the Funky Hand Design Team.   Workshops classes and lots of commission work for Fiskars in the future finally made me realise that I am not the superwoman that I thought I was and because I haven't been pulling my weight on the team recently....it's not fair on the other girls.  Anice was so kind and understanding in giving me some time off from the team but I am a 110% girl and there is only so much swinging the lead before the guilt trip sets in so it's time for me to hang up my Funky Hand Hat.   I am so going to miss Anice and my lovely teamies who have all become very special friends.....they are just the best and as this was my very first Design Team it was with a very heavy heart and tears in my eyes that I sat and typed the dreaded e-mail. I can't thank Anice enough for giving me the opportunity to work with her fabulous CD's and I wish her all the best for the future....exciting times ahead with lots of new stuff coming your way in the New Year.
I was lucky enough to meet up again with one of my Funky Hand teamies in NYC......someone you all know and love as much as I do....the fabulous Enfys.....she is such a warm loving and funny lady as well as a mega talented card maker and we had a fun evening....yummy dinner at Mimi's with En and her lovely hubby Mike with entertainment from a transvestite on the piano...yes you did read that bit correctly and hey the glamorous grans scrub up quite well don't you know.....En is the one with the lovely golden tan after basking in the cookie temperatures of Tampa Florida....I'm the one who looks like a milk bottle.

Catch up with you all tomorrow with a cheerier post about shopping New York style...perhaps a sneaky peek and of course The Furry Boy will be announcing the winner of his Splash The Stash Give-Away
Hugs Kath xxx
