Penny Black Saturday Challenge....Week 137

Morning folks and it's Saturday...time to join in the fun at Penny Black Saturday.  Lots of fabulous entries last week for Pauline's sketch.....you obviously loved it as much as I did...definitely one to file away and keep for a rainy day.
The challenge this week will probably come as no surprise....yes Valentine's Day is only a little over a week away so it's a great chance to get ahead and get your card made in plenty of time.

I coloured the image with my "on loan from Debbi" Aquamarkers...must admit I struggled a bit after years of using Distress Inks...but hey I am not giving up without a fight....practice...practice...practice is the name of the game and I have a little confession to make.....an absolute first for me....the papers and embellishments are all from a freebie from this month's Simply Cards & Papercrafts.    I would never normally use freebie papers from a magazine....to be truthful they normally end up in the bin but hey I am a big fan of Nitwit Collections and the "In The Meadow" collection in particular and the papers are great quality

The Design Team are so excited this week because we have a very special Guest Designer joining us for the month of February.....none other than
HELEN
a mega talented cardmaker...one the nicest girls in blogland and a big big fan of Penny Blacks....I'm sure I'm right in saying that Helen has joined in every Penny Black Saturday Challenge since we began away back on the 14th June 2008 and in my book that deserves a huge round of applause and a great big hug....so pop over and give Helen the best Penny Black Saturday welcome.

    morning Kath, I have to say I was impressed with the Nitwit papers too - I normally give all the freebies to my mum but I'll be keeping this one.
    And it certainly doesn't look like you struggled with the aquamarkers at all - am gonna send Paul the link cos it's fab

    This is so cute Kath. That pony always reminds me of Thelwell's ponies. Must try to enter, maybe I could make a Valentine lol!

    I know what you mean about the Aquamarkers. I won a packet of 12 last year and only got brave enough to try using them the other day. I need lots of practice I think and more colours lol!

    By coincidence I'm off to Tesco to see if they have Simply Cards and Papercrafts. But first I'm off to see Helen's card. I agree she's a lovely girl and she makes beautiful cards.

    I recognised the papers straight away lol I normally through mine out too or give them to my mum but I'm keeping these ones he he. Loving this card Kath, the colouring is fab well done you. You know how to bring a card altogether perfectly. Such a fabulous image too. Can't wait for the new Spring stamps.
