A stitch in Time and Some Blog Candy

Morning folks....I have a sneaky feeling it's going to be one of those days...you know the kind when nothing goes according to plan and of course when you leave things to the last minute....the pressure is on.   Trying to get my DT card for Penny Black Saturday finished and had the not so bright idea of doing a little bit of stitching.  
One minute it's all going swimmingly then the bobbin ran out of thread....memo to self...make sure you have enough thread to complete the project and after faffing around with that...the blinking thread broke and oh my giddy aunt could I get it back through the miniscule eye of the needle.... think I need to buy myself some magnifying specs.....but eventually after much tearing out of hair and some naughty words.....a little sneaky peek of what caused all the trouble....
But just because my day has been crap so far....doesn't mean yours should be....so it's time for a little bit of blog candy...a chance for you to win some goodies from the NEC.....

On a very sad note I know the day is not going to get any better...I am off to the funeral of my Simply Create teamie Angela who lost her brave battle with cancer last week.....she was just the sweetest kindest lady...courageous and cheerful to the end....she will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

    Sorry to hear you are going to a funeral (Hugs). On a lighter note thanks for offering Candy and I rarely use my sewing machine because I can't see to thread the needle but it has been suggested I try one of those little wire 'ordinary needle' threaders - it might help?

    Hi Kath not the best day for you so far but hopefully it'll get better. I never met Angela but I was really sad when Jacqui told us she had died last week. She was a lovely teamie, always leaving lovely comments and from what I read of her blog a brave, brave lady. I'm sure lots of people will be thinking of her and her family this morning.

    Hi looks super your peek at your project nothing worse when the needle breaks :/ my mum gave me a needle threaded for the machine it is so easy with that.     I gave up with my sewing machine it drives me nuts no-one would guess i got an A* in textiles at school i just can't get on with the thing at the moment hehe!

    I'm still not brave enough to drag the sewing machine out...how is it I can make a wearable item of clothing but daren't stitch onto a card?...one day!

    Fab candy - I've just been on to the Lili of the Valley website but they don't have the cute squares left in the options I wanted...boo!
