What's on my Workdesk Wednesday

Morning folks...it's Wednesday again and time to join all those lovely crafty folks over at Julia's place otherwise known as WOYWW but it's not what's on my workdesk today because it's going to be a no crafty day...so you will just have to settle for yesterday...and AHOY ME HEARTIES with Captain Jack aka Brodie at the helm of the the Good Ship Cubbyhole...
we had a great day out at the Riverside Museum/Tall Ship Visitor Attraction in Glasgow on Monday...well worth a visit.
Doesn't it annoy you when you take a trip to one of those must-see attractions and you need a small mortgage just to get the average family of four through the door....not in this case...Entrance is FREE and no big rip-off's either when it comes to dining....good food at reasonable prices in a lovely restaurant looking out over the river and for those who want to bring their own lunch...there is a separate area provided.  Great shuttle bus service from the City Centre that won't make a dent in your pocket either...three cheers and a great big 10 out 10 for Glasgow City Council.
But the best bit was the trip on board The Tall Ship Glenlee..we had great fun playing at being Pirates of the Caribbean...splicing the main brace...loading up the hold and scrubbing the deck...
but not even the threat of having to walk the plank managed to persuade Captain Jack Sparrow and his Gran...The Bosun to climb the rigging into the crow's nest.
Captain Jack chilling out in the cubbyhole yesterday with his crew of Hero Arts and Promarkers...

and here's the result...stamping and colouring all his own work....he did run out of alphabet rub-ons and left his crafty Gran to write the rest ...according to the little crafty pirate no-one will notice
Sadly my little Hero Arts Adventurer left to go home yesterday afternoon and I'm going to miss him but one thing's for sure...the cubbyhole will be a whole lot quieter.
Have you been across to join in the birthday party celebrations going on throughout August at The Ribbon Girls...the party is still going with a swing and we can't have a party without some party games and prizes.
CAN YOU GUESS....

how many buttons are in the jar....the game will run until the evening of Saturday13th August and the winner will receive 6 packets of small polka dot buttons in colours of their choice. So pop over to The Ribbon Girls....leave a comment with your best guess and the winner will be the first person on the list who guesses correctly or the first person who is closest to the correct number.
Catch up with you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

  19. Looks like you and Brodie had lots of fun on board the tall ship. Isn't it great to go somewhere and it doesn't cost a fortune. I love the fact that there are so many free places to visit in Glasgow.

Looks like Brodie could give you a hand with your Christmas cards.

  26. That looks a fabulous day out and wonderful it's a freebie too. Here in Liverpool we have 9 amazing museum/art gallery sites and they are all free and I think they gain as it brings so many to the city.
    Great apprentice crafting there too.
