Frantic Friday

Morning folks...two bonny sunny days in a row...crikey Guinness Book of World Records stuff right enough...can life get any more exciting....OH YES after weeks of planning (mucho "coffee and chat" meet-ups with my lovely buddies Debbi and Anne) our Girls Just Want To Have Fun Crafty Day is tomorrow...fingers crossed that my phobia for making lists has once again stood me in good stead....oh yes I have a real thing about making lists...in fact life in the cubbyhole would probably be chaos without them.  So far the current list is looking pretty "ticked off" but I always have that little niggly doubt in the back of my mind "HAVE I FORGOTTEN SOMETHING" and the reason being that despite all the list making...I usually do forget something.  Perhaps I need a list to check off the lists or I could just go with the "doddery old bat" excuse like I normally do.
Just time for a Penny Black Saturday sneaky peek....
before Frantic Friday kicks off....it's going to be a quick dash trot of a morning stroll with The Furry Boy and while I pack up the car for a trip to The Papeterie to meet up with Debbi to set up for tomorrow...
the other half of the cubbyhole crew is chilling out with his bone.
Then back home to hit Costco with the "lunch for tomorrow" list...looks like it's going to be a "running around like a headless chicken"..."not enough hours" kind of a day.  See you all tomorrow over at Penny Black Saturday for another challenge and there are 2 fabulous prizes to be won.

Summer's back

Morning folks....I had planned to share my review today of the Advanced Tape Glider but due to unforeseen circumstances it's been postponed until next week.  Translated as....the old Red Sky At Night proverb turned out to be right on the button...Summer has returned to Bonny Scotland and no way was I staying cooped up in the cubbyhole yesterday tip-tapping on the computer when I could be out enjoying what could be the very last days of Summer. We've been rather deprived of sunshine in my neck of the woods this year so when the Cubbyhole Crew put it to the vote there was a mad dash to abandon ship...
and spend the day in the garden...feet up and my nose in a book...chilling with a cuppa or two and The Furry Boy just snoozing...

Of course it didn't help with the ticking things off the crafty list but hey ho tomorrow is another day as they say and when you are the CEO of the Cubbyhole...it's a rum do if you can't give yourself a day off now and again....resting up before tomorrow aka Frantic Friday.

Your Help Is Needed...

Hi folks...over on the Fiskarettes Blog they need your help to raise funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital...
and we can all help this very worthwhile cause by making some cards or Christmas decorations which will be sent to the hospital for their Christmas Stall which is in place in the hospital for the six weeks prior to Christmas.  All proceeds from the sale of the cards and decorations will go to the Children's Hospital Charity.
The generosity of blogland is second to none so I know that you will all rally round...if you haven't made a start on your festive cards yet...a great excuse to get going and if you have...I'm sure you can spare a few....you can contact Caroline HERE for info on where to send your contribution.

What's On My Workdesk Wednesday

Morning folks...we had the most beautiful red sky last night and you know how the old proverb goes....Red Sky At Night...Shepherd's Delight...according to those weather boffins we may be heading for a bit of an Indian Summer...well personally I'm really not fussed what nationality Summer is as long as it starts around May and lasts through to September like the good old days. Any thoughts of topping up my pealy wally Scottish tan are gone for another year I fear and how can we be expected to listen to a word they say when last week they were all doom and gloom and predicting early winter weather at the beginning of November.
In this neck of the woods we can have all the seasons in one day...every weather phenomonen known to man...rain hail snow sun wind...all in the space of 24 hours...but enough of me waffling on about the weather...it's Wednesday and that means it's time to join in the fun over at WOYWW.  What a surprise no kitting on my workdesk today...instead I've been playing with Mr TH...his fabulous stamps and Distress Inks getting all inky and grungy and adding to the Christmas Card Box...

Catch up with you all tomorrow for the cubbyhole verdict on the Pink Advanced Tape Glider

Lazy Sunday....

Morning folks...it's Sunday...supposedly a day of rest...fat chance when you're a member of the cubbyhole crew and what I want to know is why I am the only member of the crew that seems to do any work around here while the other half seems to spend most of his time snoozing...
With less than a week to go to our "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" Crafty Day....today is going to be a "putting all the kits together" day....yes real production line stuff.   But I have a plan to make the day go with a swing...what better way to relieve the boredom of popping all those bits and pieces into their individual bags but to spend the day "snuggled up on the sofa in my jammies"..in the company of the King of Swing...the delectable Mr B...

turn up the volume girls and ENJOY....OLE!!!
and for all the lovely crafty girls who will be joining in the fun next Saturday....a little sneaky peek

just to let you know that my lovely buddy Anne at THE SEW ROOM has her very first workshop scheduled for Wednesday...for details pop over HERE....
Well got to go girls....I have a hot date with 34 kits and Mr B
See you all tomorrow

Penny Black Image: Nature's Best
Papers: MME Lost and Found Christmas
Lace: The Ribbon Girl
Sentiment: LOTV Circular Sentiments...Set 5 Christmas
As you know I've had a bit of a gadding about week and yes once again I was sailing close to the wind and skidding in by the seat of my pants but I so wanted to play with this gorgeous Penny Black image I bought at Harrogate....the bird would have to be brown and these gorgeous papers just happened to fit the Brown Monochrome idea floating around in my head BUT what about the holly berries and his red breast.  TH Distress Inks came to my rescue...Rusty Hinge is a reddy kind of brown and I think goes rather well...don't you just love when a plan comes together...
We have a fabulous prize this week for one lucky winner who will be chosen at random and announced next Saturday from
4 rolls of Ribbon of the winner's choice
lots of gorgeous new ribbons in stock including the on trend Home Spun range...so why don't pop over and feast your eyes and take advantage of fabulous special offers...the more you buy..the more you save and please don't blame me if you have no willpower
I look forward to seeing all your Monochrome creations this week and will be popping by for a visit...in the meantime enjoy the weekend whatever you have planned...I hope the weather is going to be kinder where you are and as always...happy crafting.

Less is More Challenge...Week 33...Take 2

Hi everybody....back again with card No 2 for the Less Is More Challenge...
Hero Arts: CG572 - 2 Birds In A Tree
inked with TH Distress Ink...Chipped Sapphire
Sentiment inked with Barn Door
Pearls: Hobby House

I have some sad news to share with you all....my faithful workhorse Mr Dyson has gone to vacuum cleaner heaven....after 10 years of swallowing billions of dog hairs and all the paper bits and pieces that the cubbyhole could throw at him without complaint I may add...he decided that enough was enough...died in his sleep...poor old thing.
So let me introduce you to the newest member of the cubbyhole crew...
all smart and shiny...a bit more lightweight but every bit as noisy...surely there must be a way of making the daily Dyson dance around more peaceful...crikey my ears are still ringing from this morning's jig.  Being the new kid on the block I wonder if he realises he'll be working his little socks off starting out with the cubbyhole mess and no time for slacking before he tackles the huge daily hair removal bonanza.  Let's hope he's up to the job and can step up to the plate because I have things to do and places to go today...I'm off on a little jaunt with my lovely buddy Debbi..any excuse for a break from the kitting frenzy...fingers crossed that time out with coffee and a crafty chat will somewhat restore my sanity...I'll back tomorrow to tell you where we got to on today's travels.

I love The Ribbon Girl...

Morning folks...I did warn you that I loved the yummy goodies in this month's Ribbon Girl DT kit so more Christmas cards to share in alternative contemporary colours and a chance to play with another of my new Penny Blacks...I am loving this holly and mistletoe spray image
22mm Brown/Cream Checked Gingham
Lime Green Small Polka Dot Buttons
Penny Black...Snowflake And Holly
but it was a major feat of crafty engineering to cut out...

Play time is over....it's back to the worky stuff again....my project for our "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" Workshop is in the bag....PHEW!!.....just a little bit of kitting to finish...but still a thousand and one things to do....badges to make...food lists to organise and just a week and a bit to go.  So instead of mulling over what I still have to do...it might be a better idea to put the kettle on and get on with it.
Catch up with you all tomorrow over at WOYWW
