Cooking By Gas...

Morning folks...what's on the agenda for today...certainly not what I intended...I'm going down the slight change of plan route.  Fear not you haven't clicked onto some cookery blog...it's just that the crafty list is temporarily on the back burner...please excuse the pun...I need to use up these eye sprouting tatties...yes you did read that right...
What is it about the veggies we buy nowadays from the supermarket...within days of coming into our cosy homes they become pathetic shrivelled specimens of their former selves...could it be because they are not as fresh as they would have us believe.. They are washed and scrubbed within an inch of their lives to remove any evidence which would make us think they've been dug out of the ground...how awful would it be if we were to contaminate our fingers with anything remotely resembling a little bit of soil...then they are packaged in polythene and spend months in chill conditions before they reach the shelves and perhaps that's why they have very little taste.  I'm as guilty as anyone of shopping for convenience but I think it's time I searched out a local farm shop for real vegetables. But back to the job in hand...I need to use up these tatties before I open the veggie cupboard to be faced a scene from "Day Of The Triffids"...so time to get chopping and make a pot of Tattie Soup...Potato and Leek to give it it's posh name...
 three cheers for kitchen gadgets...
and a sink full of warm soapy suds...a great way to clean up the inky grungy nails...
and whilst my pot of yummy home-made soup is cooking...I'm off to get stuck into my DT card for Saturday's challenge over at Penny Black Saturday...in the meantime a sneaky peek of some Hero Arts Frame Cuts cards for my demo at The Papeterie on 17th March.

Cooking by gas in more ways than one...see you all tomorrow
