Happy As Larry...

Morning folks..the weather's gone crazy here...can't make up it's mind from one minute to the next so what else is a crafty girl going to do but spend her days in the cubbyhole catching up with all my recently purchased but neglected goodies. Perhaps this post should carry a Government Health Warning...if you are one of those neat tidy and don't like getting your hands dirty kind of crafters...you should look away now.  I'm back in "mucky paws" mode again having great fun decorating my MDF book with paint...a bit of stamping with my new TH stamps and lots of puddly finger mucky techniques otherwise known as PLAYING.  And I do rather like getting mucky and always have apparently...I was never one of those doll like girly kids all dressed up in a pretty dress...I was "every parent's nightmare" the naughty adventure seeking tomboy...out playing from dawn to dusk...always had holes in the a**e of my breeks from climbing trees or over barbed wire fences...lived in jeans and mucky welly boots reeking of that delicious smell that comes from spending your every waking hour with horses. I couldn't even stay smart in my school uniform...I was the one with my shirt hanging out and my socks down around my ankles...happy happy days when children were allowed to be children...a bit of muck never hurt anyone and nothing that a good old bathtime scrub won't put right.
But as usual I'm off on a tangent...so back to the reason for this post...the MDF book and my creatively cluttered workdesk...
I've kept the pages fairly simple...the plan being to fix all the technique tags from Tim's fabulous Creative Chemistry 101 Class  on to acetate inserts...
let's just say that's the theory but putting it into practice may end up being an ongoing "weeks of work" project...I'm hoping that by going public it will spur me on until I cross the finishing line...I definitely don't want this to join the "I've started but not got round to finishing" pile of stuff in the cubbyhole so if I should fall by the wayside or you think I'm slacking...you have my permission to smack my fingers...put me on the naughty step and give me a good talking to...whether this grown up tomboy will take any notice is another matter. See you all tomorrow for sneaky peak Friday...will my Tag Book have progressed any further I wonder or will I have been distracted by something entirely different...you never know in this madhouse that we fondly call THE CUBBYHOLE.
Hugs Kath xxx

  7. From one ex tomboy to another (no horses for me just the beach of Lake Huron) it looks like you are well on the way to finishing anyway. Those pages are beautiful, love the colours you are using.

  10. Looks like you've been having fun Kath. Looking forward to seeing how your tag book progresses!

I'm with you about playing outside all day long. My kids had the same upbringing and being farm kids there was always a shed to take over if the weather was bad. I'm glad to see that Poppy and Oliver love to be outside too.

  11. Your post title brought a huge smile to my face. I grew up hearing the phrase "happy as larry" but never, ever heard anyone else use it! Nice memories flooded in when I saw it.

Now, your posts always make me smile and be thankful that you are so willing to share your creativity and talent and your fabulous cubbyhole buddy with the rest of us.

    hugs to you, eileen

  15. Your book looks smashing Kath, have you been stamping with the bubble wrap? Great idea from your class to use that, I've even managed to find a bit with the small bubbles.Have to get that lovely blue and brown paint though, I tried other paint, but it was a no no.
