What a Weekend...

Edited to add: not the news I was hoping for and I'm not too happy with the conflicting reports I've had this morning...the emergency vet called me before she signed Buddy over to the day staff to say that she was really pleased with him and I should be able to take him home today but when I spoke to the nurse she said he's not eating and they are not happy to discharge him until he does...obviously he's not eating because he's missing home and thinks he's been abandoned but I'm waiting for the vet to call me back with an explanation...not a happy bunny right now.

Morning folks...woohoo I'm counting down the hours until that magic phone call to say that the Furry Boy will be coming home today and can I say how much I appreciated all your words of comfort and support...it really meant a lot whilst I was pacing the floor and climbing the walls waiting for news...it really has been the longest rollercoaster 24 hours of my life...quite a weekend in more ways than one. Hubby decided to start demolishing the downstairs bathroom...we were planning a complete make-over but not just yet but I suppose it was his way of keeping himself busy whilst we fretted about our sick Furry Boy.  I'm 2 days into the "try out before you buy" cycle experiment...are you itching to know how it went...from the waist up everything is A/OK...from the waist down...not so good...in fact that's putting it mildly...the truth is hubby's bike is far too big for this "vertically challenged"...short legged crafter...if I put my feet on the pedals then I'm sitting on the bar which isn't the most comfortable situation and if I sit on the saddle my feet don't reach the pedals...a no win situation really and crikey who invented this modern instrument of  torture they have the cheek to call a saddle...to my way of thinking it should be large enough to accommodate your bottom...more like a horse saddle which is smooth...rounded and the perfect shape for that delicate part of your anatomy to sit on comfortably...not something that leaves you barely able to walk.
And there's the added difficulty of the helmet being a tad too big...not easy finding your way round country lanes when you can't see where you're heading but despite the little hiccups...I'm rather enjoying it...once I've invested in my very own midget sized bike and the Furry Boy is back to full fitness..the training will begin...who knows...watch out Chris Hoy...Rio here I come.
But living dangerously hasn't completely taken over my life...there's been a bit of crafty stuff in between and I was itching to play with my DT Project of the Month Kit from Craftwork Cards...well named I think...
love the chipboard cards which are perfect for colouring with Distress Inks...the mannequins and dresses and the vintage chipboard tickets are so cute

See you all tomorrow

  8. Hi Kath, lovely to read that Buddys on the mend and maybe getting home today, he must be missing you both too. Two great cards, lovely colours and nice to see a shaped card again. I haven't been on my bike for years,(in fact it's just about to go to the tip) the roads are far too busy here nowadays and I would like to be crafting a few years yet not lying in a hospital bed or worse! Get a pair of the jelly bum shorts my chum wears them all the time.

  9. Hi Kath, so glad that Buddy may be coming home today, he will be very pleased too as I am sure he will have missed you both terribly too. Nothing like being at home to make a swift recovery.

The CC kit looks amazing, chipboard cards sound interesting, something else I need to investigate! Love the story of your antics on the bike, when you get your new one Buddy will not know what hit him! Have a great day with your golden bundle...Crafty hugs, Anne xx

  15. Aww Kath, I’ve been out over the weekend and am only just catching up with this news of poor Buddy.

Hopefully he’s well enough to come home today but what a shock and worry it must have been for you.
Spoil him rotten when he gets home (that goes without saying) and give him a big hug from me.

    Lots of Love

  25. Kath,I just saw your last two posts. I am sooo sorry you and Buddy are having to go through this. I hope by now your vet has called and will let you come get Buddy. I think he may just need a little time to get his appetite back. You know how we are after being sick, vey cautious about what goes in the tummy. It's wonderful you have a great vet staff. Our precious doggies are our children. Believe me ,I know. give buddy a Big Hug !
Love the cards you shared. The chipboard with the pretty pink embellishments is lovely.

  26. O no Kath, Popped back to see if Buddy was home!! That's bad telling you one thing then saying another.. I agree with you that Buddy is missing you both and his home.. that sounds the reason for him not eating...I do hope he is home soon.. Big Hugs May x x x

  27. Oh I do hope that Buddy is indeed much improved & can come home. It does sound rather as if the bathroom demolition was a matter of keeping sane! The cards look very dimensional & glad you were able to do some crafting whilst all that was going on. The bike sounds a bit dangerous to me.

  29. Gorgeous cards Kath. Hope you've had a better day than it was turning out this morning. Thanks for the update about Buddy this morning. I've been really worried about him, hope they're managing to coax him to eat so he can get home. I'm sure you won't be able to settle to anything till you get him home, I know I'd be pretty distracted if it was one of my boys.

Fingers crossed he gets home tomorrow if he's not home already.

Hugs Kat and the boys xx

  31. Hi Kath, I'm just now hearing about the woe's of your poor Buddy. I'm so sorry you both have to go thru this ordeal. You will be able to tell alot when you first see him today. Maybe you can even coax him to take a couple of bites of something bland right from your finger. Hoping for a full and fast recovery. I'll say a little prayer for him, too. Linda S. in NE

  33. Oh Kath, there have been tears of sadness because of Buddy being poorly, and now tears of laughter with your cycling gymnastics! And I couldn't agree more regarding bicycle saddles - definitely not made for a lady's delicate posterior! Your cards are, as always, beautiful. Hugs xx
