12 Tags of 2012...

Hi Folks...it's time for "12 Tags of 2012" again and I had a sneaky feeling that Tim would be creating something wonderfully spooky for Halloween...

Tim's Tag...
but we certainly don't celebrate Halloween in such a big way in this country...it must be 8 or 9 years since we last had trick and treaters at our door and that was an occasion we won't forget in a hurry. Don't know who got the bigger shock...the dog (our last Goldie Ben) was scared out of his wits to be confronted with 3 kids dressed as ghosts draped in bed sheets ...he gave out the biggest scariest bark ever and ended up a quivering wreck under the kitchen table while they were last seen hi-tailing it down the street as fast as their little legs could carry them...never to return...perhaps we've been black-listed.
So I decided to do a Christmas themed tag this month...don't know if I like it...a bit of a rush job...because you know who...was bumping his gums about getting on with the Fiskars prep stuff...

but I did have fun colouring the glitter...as always a great tip from The Master...you think it's never going to work...starts off looking like a lumpy disaster but have a little patience...keep stirring and voila...on reflection I think I added too much Alcohol Ink...it's a bright...in your face...sunglasses required kind of colour...

The crafty list of things is almost up to date so the cubbyhole crew are having a change of scene today...we're heading for the kitchen for a cosy cook-athon day.
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

  1. Your tag is gorgeous!

I did not know that you did not get trick or treater. I know that years ago you didn't but for some reason i thought that had changed.
Count your lucky stars. We give out candy to at least 250 kids...some years we have as high as 200-300 kids (weather dependant).

I love Halloween...I decorate my door, porch and front garden! it is fun to see all the costumes and gives me bit of a chuckle to see who tries to come back a couple of times during the evening. teehee

  2. Love your tag Kath, don't know what's not too like about it! The glittery letters are fab and love the rosettes! We get trick or treaters here in Blackpool, I always put a Jack O Lantern in the window so they know they are welcome and decorate the house - my kids think I'm barmy!! Enjoy your cookathon xx

  4. Hi Kath, I love your take on Tim's tag, the colour of the glitter is fabulous. Glad you said it took ages with the glitter, I thought I had done mine wrong! There are a few small kiddies in our neighbourhood who always come out on Halloween and I love to seem them all dressed up. Even after living here for 40 years I still do miss celebrating Halloween properly...... Crafty hugs, Anne x

  11. Ooh, love your tag Kath. What a fab colour of glitter. Thanks for the tip about making it, I haven't plucked up the courage to start yet - this afternoon hopefully.
I love Halloween. Even though the kids are all grown up I still carve a pumpkin and decorate the house a little. As for Trick or Treat, We used to get loads in the UK, not as many now we're in the Isle of Man - it's called Hop Tu Naa over here, and they have turnips instead of pumpkins.
    Enjoy your day cooking. xx

  13. Love both your tags Kath, and lovely snowflake rosettes. We get a few kiddies at our door at halloween, around a dozen or so, I carve a pumpkin too, then make pumpkin soup and pumpkin pie. I remember having to recite poetry or sing for our treats but kids expect them for saying "trick or treat" or at most a joke, they get it easy, lol

  17. Great tag Kath. I might get round to trying the personalised glitter....if I ever get time. Love the rosette snowflakes, mine plus the tattered poinsettia are still in the packet!

By the way are you being polite for the wider audience when you talk about trick or treating? We used to go guising when I was little. We dressed up and were expected to sing or recite poetry. Everybody tried to visit the lady who made toffee apples first!
