So what's new...

Hi folks...it's Monday...the beginning of a new week and with 2 days left before I head off to Birmingham...you won't be surprised to hear that I'm in headless chicken mode...running around like a cat with a scalded bum but hey what's new. With hair and nails to sort out...clothes and toiletries to look out and pack not to mention some crafty stuff to finish...I need to switch up a gear to warp speed. I know what you're thinking...that "time lazing around on the sofa and taking off on a spur of the moment workshop" last week has now jumped up and bitten me on the bum but I have to say that spur of the moment workshop was absolutely worth it...what fun we had learning the different folding techniques to turn a tatty old paperback into a treasured sculpture...
still in construction mode...would you believe it took 2 and a bit hours just to get to this stage...it's all about preparation...each page needs to be folded precisely at right angles into the spine and smoothed down with a bone folder...very reminisce of scoring and folding workshop kits and it seems a never ending task if you choose big fat paperbacks with over 400 pages but the company was great and refreshments were on hand to keep our spirits up. I have lots of decorating ideas running through my head but most involve messy inky techniques which are not going to impress at my "tart up the nails" appointment tomorrow so it looks like they'll be joining the "apres Birmingham" crafty list of things to do...
A big thank you to our lovely bloggy buddy Maureen who sent us this gorgeous card to let us know that her give-away parcel had made it's way safely across the Atlantic...how sweet is this image...so like my gorgeous Furry Boy who goes into major sad face mode the minute the suitcase appears...little does he know it's only a day away...
But time and tide wait for no man never mind crazy crafters...so toodle-oo for now...I'll see you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

  5. I wonder if you could fit Buddy into a large laundry bag & take him with you........ on second thoughts he would be quite heavy. Hope you get it all done.
