Just a little hoop-de-doo...

Hi folks...just a little hoop-de-doo from me this morning....the doors are done...looking all sparkly shiny white and I'm happy to say devoid of any Furry Boy hairs...I'm not a-hooping and a-hollering from the rooftops quite yet as the walls and the bookcase are still a work in progress but I'm happy to announce...in fact that's a huge understatement...I'm absolutely ecstatic that I've completed the door painting marathon...didn't break any records but then again no bones either and believe me it was a momentous moment when I hammered down the lid on that can of gloss paint for the last time...
hey I was even humming a happy tune during the worst task of all...washing out those darned brushes.
But the real star of the DIY show is my 24/7 adorable Furry Partner who's taken all the upheaval in his stride with his usual "whatever" atitude...
OK there has been the odd big sigh but on the whole he's been a star...covered in wet sticky wallpaper...had more than his fair share of paint splatters...snoozed through most of the banging and clattering...coped with route diversions...crazy changes to our daily strolls and mealtimes and it can't have been easy putting up with the prima donna shenanigans of a mega stressed tearing her hair out Mum but with his laid back personality and special doggy instinct that now might be a good time for a snuggle...we made it through lots of "towel throwing in" moments.  Thank you my furry friend...the DIY enthusiast's best friend and I couldn't have done it without you.
And while I wait for the first coat of emulsion on the walls to dry...I'm heading back to the cubbyhole to make a start on the crafty pile and OH JOY OF JOYS...the job that requires big girl knickers and lots of cuppas to see me through...it's pounding the keyboard time...the dreaded step-by-steps for the Fiskars Hobbycraft Demo Samples...
I've been promising Fiskars these for weeks and now I've run out of excuses...so today's the day and who knows I may just manage to sneak in a little playtime.
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

  2. Good Morning Kath. Well Done to you, it must have been exhausting too. But I bet it looks fabulous having everything looking pristine again. I cannot remember having everything done at the same time, bit of The Forth Road Bridge syndrome here I'm afraid. Samples are looking great as usual. Have a Good Day. Hugs Rita xxx

  6. Well Done Kath,
You delight me with your day to day blogs, and the little tasks etc..... But you always make me pick up and carry on with my own bits and pieces with a smile. Knowing that its not always easy to fit everything in, but i'm not alone and I to sometimes need to put on my big Girl Pants and get on with it. Hugs as ever to you and the beautiful Buddy xxx

  12. Kath it is funny how these fury partners seem to know when they have to be good. Ours is the same under your feet most of the time but times like these they just fine a quiet corner and sleep. Glad you are on the home stretch.

  14. Hi Kath, I think you'll remember the summer of 2013 not only for the gorgeous first three weeks of school holidays but the year of the house makeover. You deserve a medal Kath, it's hard work painting all that walls and doors even though you made it sound easy at times. Determination, it's a great thing to have, I wish a lot more people in this country could be like you instead of the poor us attitudes they seem to have. What a gorgeous photo of Buddy, he looks so content a sure sign of being loved...Trish
