I Was Stitched Up...

Hey everyone...it's your favourite bundle of golden deliciousness popping in with an update on life in the cubbyhole.
Last time I joined you I didn't know that dastardly plans were afoot...forgive the pun...silly moi for thinking we were off on our holibobs when in fact my sneaky old crafty Mum had arranged a hot date with a scalpel at the vets instead...oh yes I was stitched up good and proper and woke up feeling as though I'd gone 10 rounds with a boxer of the human variety but all's well that ends well and I'm feeling much better. I've been back to see my lovely chum Mark and he's very happy that the wound's healing nicely...in fact he thinks I'm an absolute star but you all knew that anyway...didn't you.  And woohoo Mum will be removing the bandage today...
and yeehaaa I get my "beginning to feel a bit itchy" stitches out on Friday...permission to resume normal hooligan antics and back to tearing around chasing my bunny friends again. The not so good news is...I'M BEING PUT ON A DIET...a measuring out each meal weight watchers diet...a measly 80g per portion starvation regime with no extra treats and was I consulted about taking part in this gastronomic torture...do I have a choice...apparently NOT...so next time I pop in...I'll probably be a skinny malinky lang legs former shadow of myself instead of your adorable furry coffee table.
But hey I'm a laid back "go with the flow" kind of a dude and I'm sending you all big furry snuggles to say a huge "woof woof" thank you for all your kind messages and dropping a hint that food parcels will be very much appreciated.
See you all soon

  2. Oh, Buddy .. happy for the good news. Cooper sends his condolences on the diet thing. He, too, went to the vets for what turned out to be a cyst and was immediately put on a diet!! He needs to lose 5 lbs ... we stuck to the strict 1/3 cup three times daily for two months .. the sadness and begging were intolerable!! We have cheated a bit, so it's a slow go!!

good luck, Kath .. it is so hard! Lots of guilt and lots of begging!! It is hard to unspoil them. Big hugs, Judy

  9. So glad to hear that the recovery is going well. Now remember, no nibbling at the stitches when the bandage comes off otherwise you might find yourself in the 'doghouse'.

I'm sure if you are good about your diet you might get the occasional treat - try not to be too hard on your Mum as she's only doing it for your own good.

    Sending big (((hugs)))

  10. Oh Buddy, a diet!!! My mum has me a one of them too. It's ok but I do miss things like that little end of toast, or when the grand kids come for tea a leave that few bits. It's now a no, no. Do you know the chickens get more treats than me and they are never on a diet, I can't understand that - can you?? It must be all down to us being such layed back kind of fellas that do a lot of sleeping and those chucks are always running about. Glad your on the mend, you will better not have a wee nibble at those stitches or your mum will be getting on at you. I suppose they know best, well they think they do. Harris.
Glad your feeling better and things are looking good. Hazel x

  15. Hi Buddy, so glad to hear that you are on the mend and looking so well too. This weather won't help the diet, far too wet and windy for a quiet stroll but mum sill keep you on the straight and narrow. Wish it was that easy for us overweight humans... Trish

  16. Well hello to you too you gorgeous furry hooligan!
Very glad to hear you're doing ok, and that you're not holding a grudge about the whole vet thing! Our old furry companion used to be terribly grumpy and give us the cold shoulder after every visit... But it sounds like you know it was important.
And Shhhhh... Don't mention the "D" word! Some of us are still in denial. Tell you what, next time |I'm up your way I'll share some of my sneaky treats with you and you can save me from myself ;-) x

  17. Heh Buddy, I like you, you are cool. I had a little op too and my stitches are itching. So annoying about the diet, think I might have to too, 10 days of resting for me so far and I fear the my lean athletic body (I wish) has morphed into jelly and ice cream. Oh well, we will both return to our former glory soon, keep smiling Buddy! Nikki xx

  22. Buddy, you are looking good. I'm glad to hear the stitches will be out soon and you'll be "footloose" and raring to go. My Molly was just gently told her weight was contributing to her snoring and is now also part of the "D" word. She does have diet treats tho so that helps. Hope your mum can find some for you and if not, let me know and I'll send you some.

  23. Oh this cracked me up Buddy! The diet bit I mean. It's good to hear the op. is healing well :)

I'm currently popping round and feeding a neighbours (whispers) c a t s. Now I ain't a cat person, let's make that clear. So, I'm in and out of the house like a shot, but they cornered me the other night so I bribed my way out with cat treats. So far so good - but in the hasty exit I left the box, with it's lid clicked ON but where they could get to it and next day the box and lid were on the floor and every single treat had been hoovered up.

Just leading to a suggestion - can you hop up onto worktops/open cupboards/ clamber into rubbish bins? That might help you to keep the calorific intake up :) But don't tell Mum I said so!!

Sending you a big cuddle dear boy.

    Love, Di xx

  24. Dear Buddy, We can feel your pain. Our mum and dad must be very good friends with our Doctor as we have been spending much time with him. My name is Sydney and I have ear infections that won't stay away. The doctor said I should quit getting into dirty and wet places....Really! My name is Baxter, I'm an old boy, but I only remember that after I've pulled a muscle jumping off furniture. I have a really nice dog bed, but no one will sleep with me, so I sneak up on the furniture to sit with my mom and dad. Do do have one of those "cone of torture" head bands? My vet thinks they solve all problems. Obviously he's never had to scratch an itch wearing one! Well, we send our love and hope you heal quickly. It's not fun not being able to play. We do like your pretty bandage! But we don't want one! Many Licks from Sydney and Baxter
