'tis the season...

Hi folks...Happy St Andrews Day to all my fellow Scots at home and across the globe...
today I'm sharing my "skidding in by the seat of my pants" November Inspiration Emporium DT project using some of the goodies from my November DT parcel...continuing with the theme for this month's "Happy Holidays" Challenge over at Inspiration Journal....you still have time to join in the fun with the chance to win a $50 voucher to spend at Inspiration Emporium but only just so you need to get your skates on.
It's a "more bang for your buck" 6 cards made with the gorgeous

I can't believe how much you get for your money in this kit or that I've made 6 cards from one sheet of paper...a few Toppers...Element and Alphabet Stickers and still have loads left to play with...

and I couldn't resist bringing out the gorgeous snowflakes again...
The Christmas Card Box is filling up nicely...looks like I won't be taking a trip to M&S this year...she says confidently but I need to get a wiggle on and make a start on the cards for family and special friends and woohoo I have the very thing....my give-away prize from the Penny Black Facebook page has arrived...
See you all tomorrow and the countdown to Christmas begins...

Christmas Give-Away

Hi folks..seeing as December is only a day or two away...it's time to share some Christmas Magic...

Scentsicles very kindly sent me two packs of their Scented Tree Ornaments...one for me and one for you. Scentsicles are a much-loved scented ornament from the US that has launched in the UK...the perfect stocking filler or gift for the home this festive season.
Apparently 67% of UK homes now opt for an artificial tree and ScentSicles ensure that you get that fresh-cut real Christmas Tree aroma in your home...simply hang them on your tree or tuck them into wreaths or garlands to enjoy 30 days of that nostalgic Christmas scent...they are made from all natural biodegradable paper sourced from sustainably managed forests...infused to the core with pure fragrance offering a greener way to scent your home.
All you have to do is leave me a comment on this post before 8pm on Friday 5th December and I'll announce the lucky winner on Saturday.
Just in case you are not the lucky winner...Scentsicles are available from John Lewis and leading Garden Centres across the UK for £6 and come in 4 different scents...White Winter Fir...Christmas Time Spruce...Snow Berry Wreath and Two Dashes of Cinnamon.
And while we're on the subject of US customs...crikey I woke up yesterday morning thinking I'd moved across the pond...hundreds of e-mails in my Inbox with Black Friday offers from UK retailers...excuse me but since when did we have Black Friday shopping in this country...UK retailers jumping on the "any old ploy to get us to part with more money" bandwagon and what do you know...it ended up as another "ashamed to be British" fiasco...crazy crowds queueing outside stores in the dead of night...websites crashing and stores having to close due to staff and customers being assaulted...the usual despicable behaviour by the moron minority all for a so called bargain.
Everything that's wrong with today's society...greed/materialism/overspending/gotta have it whether you can afford it or not and total disrespect for fellow human beings and I ain't too happy with the weather either...is it ever going to stop raining.
Until tomorrow

Chaos In The Cubbyhole...

Hi everyone...the cubbyhole paint job is coming along...slow but sure but hey all work and no play is no fun at all so I'm abandoning the DIY chaos...
and the Health & Safety hazards in the corner...
in favour of some time off with my bestest buds...a fun "eating out with a little bit of shopping thrown in for good measure" Black Friday expedition with who else but the Friday Girls. Not quite on the same scale as the one in the USA...when shoppers go wild and mayhem is the order of the day and that brings back magical memories of a Thanksgiving Holiday to New York in 2010 with my little Sis....is it really that long ago since I visited my favourite city in the whole world...

and don't be fooled by that beautiful blue sky...oh man it was COLD...I'll never forget that teeth chattering icy blast blowing up the Hudson River and the "I have no feeling in my feet" hours watching Macy's fabulous Thanksgiving Day Parade or the wonderful hours we spent shopping in the largest store on the planet...
standing in line on Black Friday...purses stuffed with discount vouchers to grab the "almost giving it away" bargains with frequent pitstops out to the magical sparkly winter wonderland with trees decorated with twinkly Christmas lights of Herald Square for coffee and absolutely delicious New York style Apple Cinnamon crepes...
and you just never know who you'll bump into in this fun vibrant city...
I would love to make a return visit BUT a trip to NYC is punishing on the old legs and feet...5 days at The NEC is a walk in the park in comparison...would the "4 years older" body survive...who knows...perhaps if I kicked started the old fitness regime again now and got into the mindset...it's a NEVER SAY NEVER...mind over matter...NO PAIN...NO GAIN and worry about the fall out later situation...don't you think.
See you all tomorrow

Happy Thanksgiving...

Hi folks...Happy Thanksgiving to all my lovely buddies in the USA....I hope you all have a fabulous eat drink and be merry celebration with your families...a practice run for Christmas perhaps...
and guess what... the missing Flash Cards have turned up...
where were they....where they should have been of course...the first box I looked in last week...why I failed to see them first time round is anybody's guess and one of life's little mysteries...perhaps I need to clean my specs more often and I'm back in DIY mode...Phase 2 of the cubbyhole make-over is underway...
starting off with computer corner and once all the walls have been painted...the real fun will begin...the bit I'm not looking forward to...emptying the storage units one by one and giving them a couple of coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint followed by a couple of coats of wax and a good old buff up...predicted completion date...the project manager has no idea...sometime in 2015 probably...let's hope it doesn't turn out to be one of those "painting the Forth Road Bridge" projects....by the time I've finished...it's time to start all over again.
See you all tomorrow

2 For The Price of One...

Hi folks...it's a "rude awakener" kind of a Wednesday morning...crikey 4 weeks today will be Boxing Day and the Christmas Celebrations will be all but over and with no crafty deadlines nipping at my heels I should be spending my time getting in the Christmas groove...getting ahead of the game with the present buying and food shopping.  I haven't even ventured into the cubbyhole since Friday last week...no crafting...no DIY...just lots of faffing around doing nothing more than drinking cups of coffee...it's true that the more time I have on my hands...the less I get done and I've been rather enjoying the lady of leisure lazy lifestyle but that's about to change...I'll be back on DIY duty today and Phase 2 of the cubbyhole make-over.
In the meantime I'm sharing a "2 for the price of one" Inspiration Emporium DT project  made for this month's "Happy Holidays" Challenge over at Inspiration Journal...
where there's a positive...there's always a "too good to throw away" negative...

and I guess you've worked out by now that I am totally besotted by this gorgeous Noel snowflake and Tim's fabulous Holiday Words Script dies...
if you've managed to get your crafty fingers on these beautiful script dies...you need to head on over to Craft Obsessions and stock up on the ultimate store cupboard item...the amazing Stick It which will become your new best friend when it comes to fixing down those fiddly intricate dies...it's taking the craft world by storm...selling like hot cakes and no wonder...it's the best thing since sliced bread.

You still have time to join in the fun over at this month's Inspiration Journal Challenge with the theme of  "Happy Holidays"...there's a fabulous prize of $50 to spend at Inspiration Emporium for one lucky winner. In the meantime if you're intending treating yourself to some crafting goodies...remember to use my code "allthatglitter" at checkout to receive 10% of your order.
Toodle oo for now

Happy Fun Times X 2...

Hi folks...I've got the "missing all my buddies" withdrawal symptoms after a happy fun times x 2 weekend...how lucky was I to spend 2 days in a row with the most fabulous fun crafty friends...
and the icing on the cake...my adorable buddy...the very talented Ken Oliver rode into town for a hilarious and very enjoyable demo day on Sunday...
All about his gorgeous new Hometown papers...his new Click It Ink Pads and the amazing product that's taking the craft world by storm...Stick It...

it's not only the ideal solution for sticking those intricate dies down...you can use it with glitter and gilding flakes and the good news is...all Ken's products are now in stock at The Papeterie or if you don't live locally available online at Craft Obsessions...

but this demo-ing malarkey is thirsty work...
it sure was a fabulous fun day with lots of laughter...coffee and cake to celebrate one very special girl's birthday...my adorable "not allowed anywhere near sharp objects" friend Tina...

and we couldn't allow our favourite Honorary Scotsman to leave the country without a goody hamper of all things Scottish including rolls of tartan ribbon to run up his very own kilt for next time.
Haste ye back bonnie lad...we love you...in the meantime...Click It...Flick It and Stick It.

Glitter Glitter Everywhere...

H folks...I'm back to share what we made in the afternoon workshop at Kath's Klub at The Papeterie on Saturday...decorating a canvas with Distress Spray Stain...Texture Paste...images from the Christmas Nostalgia Stamp Set...that gorgeous Layered Snowflake and lots and lots of sparkly glitter...
it was definitely a Glitter...Glitter Everywhere afternoon...

And hey ho...the last workshop of 2014 is done and dusted...everything has been ticked off the crafty work list and this old crafter is twiddling her thumbs wondering what to do today...will it be a cubbyhole play day or can I tempted to don the DIY duds...pick up the paintbrush again and continue with the cubbyhole make-over.
I'll be back tomorrow to share yesterday's fun day at The Papeterie with the adorable Ken Oliver.

Lots of Spritzing...What Fun...

Hi folks...what better way to end my workshop year than a fun day with lots of lovely crafty girls at Kath's Klub at The Papeterie...
a day playing with Tim's new Distress Spray Stains and I know from experience how far this stuff can travel so lots of newspaper protection ensured I didn't have to stay behind and scrub down the classroom walls...
I suspect there may be a few more Spray Stain addicts out there now...

and here's what we made in the morning workshop with the give-away stamp set
Christmas Nostalgia...

I wish the camera could show the amazing sparkle just a light spritz with Brushed Pewter created on this card
I'll be back tomorrow to share what we made after lunch...in the meantime I'm looking forward to a fun day with my lovely buddy Ken Oliver who will be demo-ing from 11.00am-4.00pm at The Papeterie today. Hope to see you there.
