It's been a crazy old week...while millions around the world chose to remember and honour those who gave their lives in the name of freedom...crackpots in the USA got more than a little bit steamed up about the Christmas Cup from Starbucks led by the biggest crackpot of them all...the motor mouth that is Donald Trump...seriously...join the real world folks...who cares a jot about the design or lack of on a coffee cup which will ultimately end up in the bin.And let's not forget the latest bright idea from the boffins at The Met Office...naming storms...what's that all about...apparently we will take more notice of severe weather warnings if the storm has a name...well considering snow has already fallen in Scotland although it's not officially winter yet...
and severe weather is not an unusual winter occurrence in this neck of the woods...we could well reach the letter Z before Spring arrives. But all that is so insignificant compared to the terrible tragedy in Paris...my thoughts and prayers are with my Fiskars friends and the people of Paris...so many innocent lives taken in another evil atrocity...when will it end.

ReplyDeleteAs for the birds, I have just treated myself using some vouchers I get for scanning all my shopping, not redeemed them for ages so I had enough for the stamps and dies. Now I will have to get the accessories and dies next, could take me a while to save up for them lol!
One thing I always like about your blog - that you aren't afraid that stating your opinion will alienate readers. Or rather you are going to state your opinion even if it did alienate some readers. I appreciate that from the crazy old USA where logic and reason and the pursuit of truth are often scorned.

We just have to keep trying to make a peaceful, loving beautiful mark on the world and I appreciate that you do that as well.
Perhaps we should rename our world the Crazy World Kath.....such horrific news today. My thoughts are with everyone in Paris...so shocking. Enjoy your crazy birds...crafting is such a good distraction at times like this.Keep snug it's even chilly here is the South today xx

I do wonder what this world is coming to at times - people in power seem to rant over the most insignificant things but hardly give a mention to such horrors as those that have taken place in Paris. My thoughts & prayers are with the people of Paris.
Up until now the rain of the last couple of weeks has kept the daytime temps very mild down here but boy did things change yesterday with the squall that rushed through the East of London and it is very chilly now. Your snow looks very pretty but I'd rather not have to deal with the chaos that it tends to cause in the southern parts of the UK as 'we' just don't cope well with these types of winter conditions (we don't get them often enough to plan properly). Keep warm & safe and have a lovely weekend.

ReplyDeleteWhen Ken Bruce said on the radio the other day that there had been snow up in Scotland I didn't realise that it was quite that bad already! It looks pretty...as long as you don't need to go out in it. I guess that I'm lucky down here in the south west as we don't usually get snow. I've lived here 5 yeas now and only had snow the first winter I was here and it was very unexpected!
As for the named storms, I'm waiting for us to get to N, who in their right minds is going to be afraid of Storm Nigel!!!
I had to go into town this morning, been putting git off all week hoping for a bit of dry weather but, sadly it was not to bee so I cam back slightly dripping and freezing cold. Now I'm not planning on going anywhere for the next few days as I need to defrost lol.
I was shocked and saddened by the tragic news from Paris. I don't usually listen to the news but heard it on the radio. The first thing that came to mind was that they were retaliating for the demise of that evil animal, Jihadi John but then heard it was because of French air strikes. Is it only me worried that some of these so called Syrian refugees are actually IS terrorists? This is one scary, messed up world we are living in and I have to say that I am glad that I live a long way from London and that my nephew and great-niece no longer live in the capital or I would get no sleep worrying about them both.
I hope that we can all have a peaceful weekend and try to enjoy ourselves in the warmth of our families.

I am so saddened to read of the madness that has happened in Paris! We are so globally connected these days, that what happens there affects us all in every country. We can only hope and pray that goodness can prevail. As for those who rant and rave over the inane and the silly here in the USA, they need to get involved in real life and in helping others!
