Rain Rain Go Away...

Hi folks...it was a bit of a wet weekend in my neck of the woods...it seemed that someone had turned on that big tap in the sky and forgot to turn it off again. The planned garden tidy up/make-over was out of the question so we retreated to the cubbyhole to tackle that "so much to do...not enough hours in the day" crafty list. I've been trying to get ahead of the game when it comes to my Simon Says Stamp DT projects...
because apart from the urgent garden work there's a little man sitting on my shoulder...whispering in my ear...putting ideas in my head of DIY/Spring Clean/Freshen Up Paintwork and New Sofa Shopping for our little den...not to mention the ongoing Cubbyhole Clear Out Dilemma...that niggly voice I won't be able to ignore forever and with this month's tag for "12 Tags of 2016" calling my name...
magazine commissions in the pipeline and other work stuff...you'd be forgiven for thinking I'm focused on being organised and getting a wiggle on. Not so...I've been more than a little bit distracted...playing the crazy scientist...donning my Alchemy hat...
in an attempt to replicate the wonderful Wendy Vecchi's embossed rust technique
if truth be told my efforts didn't look as good as this...WHY...simples...because I didn't read the recipe correctly so it's going to be a "back to the drawing board and be more accurate with the teaspoon measurements" kind of a day.
See you all soon
Hugs Kath

  1. I think I'd much rather be staying indoors and 'playing' than trekking to work in the rain...yuck! Mother Nature keeps teasing us with a lovely day here & there and then we get the cold, wet & windy. Oh well, I suppose it's what we should expect for April.
    Have fun with your 'rusting'.

  2. Hi Kath - this is one well timed blog post!
Today I am going to make a mixed media tag for my first ever swap so thanks for the inspiration.
I love that shade of orange but never thought of rust as distressed colour though - doh! Time to buy some Wendi Vechi products I reckon and that all important receipe.
