Happy Times...

Hi folks...it's Friday and the weekend beckons...it's been a mixed bag kind of a week in the cubbyhole but hey I'm one of those cup half full kind of folks...forget the aches and pains of the DIY marathon...it's all about happy times and memories of a fun day out with my lovely friend Lynne and her hubby Richard at Stonehaven...
Stonehaven is a small coastal town 17 miles south of Aberdeen with a quaint still working harbour used by small inshore fishing boats and sailing yachts...
a 1km sand/shingle beach which runs right around the bay and the famous open air swimming pool. It seems to be have become a bit of a must-have tourist destination absolutely buzzing with visitors from the lovely young couple we met on holiday from London to the throngs of Chinese and Japanese visitors all armed with their Nikon cameras and paparazzi lenses. It's definitely one of the North East of Scotland's little gems...right on my doorstep and it looked even more beautiful in the sunshine...it was great to spend time with my friend Lynne...sitting by the sea...chilling out and chatting AND introduce her to a must-have Stonehaven yummy treat...an ice-cream delight from Aunty Bettys...

and not forgetting the "Happy Happy" Mail parcel that arrived from my lovely friend Anne. I ordered some Eileen Hull Journal covers from Anne's Etsy Shop while I'm impatiently waiting for my Journal Die to arrive and Anne being Anne...the sweetest most generous kindest "little tinker" friend anyone could wish to have...added a little extra (her words not mine).  Well you can imagine how blown away I was when I opened the parcel to find she had made me this absolutely stunning Journal,,.

covered with one of my favourite Eclectic Elements fabrics and decorated with Idea-ology bits and pieces...I'm not ashamed to admit that I shed a little tear. A reminder that wealth is not about the size of my bank balance but about the wonderful true friends that I am so lucky to have in my life. And on that note...I have to say a huge thank you to the Friday Girls who donned their working duds yesterday..painted the last of the boxes and moved some of the cubbyhole stash from the garage...
to it's new home...
while I cracked on with my "crikey-it's Thursday already" DT project for next week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge...
and lunch today on our little Friday Girls road trip will be my treat...gotta keep those "stepped up to the plate and helped out a friend in need again" workers happy. Have a great weekend whatever you're doing...I'll be back tomorrow to share some cards I made with the gorgeous June Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.
Toodle-oo for now
Hugs Kath

  8. OMG that ice cream cone looks incredible, it reminds me of home back in Wales. No one makes an ice cream cone like the Brits :) Great work with the craft room, I'm so jealous.

I have just spent the most wonderful couple of days with crafty friends Jenny Marples, Toni Burrows, Marjie Kemper (from New York!), Jennie Atkinson (Shetland), Kaz Hall (for a short time), Rachel Fisher and even got to have dinner with France Papillon!! Crafty friends like you and the above, are just the best!!! Big hugs my friend, Anne xxx
