One Of A Kind...

Hi folks...can you believe it's the end of February already and it's looks like Spring may have arrived in my neck of the woods.,..blue sky and sunshine all the way but certainly not warm enough yet to tempt me out to the garden and with the boffins at The Met Office predicting more stormy weather...it might be some time before early morning al fresco cuppas are back on the cubbyhole's crew agenda. But the days are gettiung longer and when you spot one lonely crocus...
and daffodil pointing their heads to the sun...you know that Spring is just around the corner...
but time to get back to the crafty stuff and my new obsession with all things...Distress Oxides...I'm hopelessly smitten and can't seem to stop playing...they truly are amazing and here's a card I made with the cutest "One Of A Kind" Ostrich from Stampers Anonymous Hipster Set of stamps...

And I'm on a mission to share lots more Stampers Anonymous cards with you soon but need to get a wiggle one because my Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit arrived yesterday...
and my DT parcel is due in a few days. I'll be back tomorrow to share my Fiskars "What If" lightbulb moment.

Based On A Book...

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's "Transport" challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
BASED ON A BOOK
I chose "The Cat in the Hat" by Dr Seuss

I started off by smooshing Distress Oxide Inks (Broken China, Fired Brick and Faded Jeans) on to my craft mat, misted with water and laid down a piece of Ranger Media Heavystock...
misted with water and dried and then repeated several times until I was happy with the coverage. I then applied Faded Jeans Distress Oxide through the Stars Layering Stencil and stamped the bowler hat from Stampers Anonymous Dapper inked with Black Archival randomly over the background.
and added interest with the ledger image from On The Farm inked with Versamark and heat embossed with Ranger White Superfine Embossing Powder.
and added the numbers image from Dapper inked with Fired Brick Distress Oxide...I love love love the opacity you get with the Oxide inks...the ability to layer colour over colour is a real game changer...
I stamped the Crazy Cat...bow tie and hat from Crazy Things on to Ranger Watercolor Card with Black Archival, coloured with Hickory Smoke and Candied Apple Distress Markers and die cut using Sizzix Crazy Cats Framelits.
I added strips of book paper and Design Tape and used Tim Holtz Cling Foam Stamps to create the wording...stamped on to Tissue Wrap using Black Archival and Versamark heated embossed with Ranger SuperfineWhite Embossing Powder. I cut around the letters and fixed the cat and letters down with Collage Medium Matte.
doodled around the letters with the Ranger Black Fude Pen and added Stars coloured with Candied Apple Distress Paint...finishing off with some Picket Fence Paint splattering
