Crafting on a sugar high...

Hi folks...I don't want to tempt fate but I think I may be winning the battle against Mr Nasty Cold Virus..."she says whispering just in case he's listening"...I've run the gauntlet of runny nose...stuffed up nose...sneezing and the barking like a dog cough and seem to have come out the other side relatively unscathed but for someone who doesn't have a sweet tooth...it did involve dragging myself kicking and screaming to the medicine cabinet for the "4 times a day" diet of Manuka Honey...it certainly seems to have wondrous cold cure properties but this stuff is capital letter SICKLY SWEET...only made palatable by upping the ratio of Hot Lemon to Honey...either way it was either "too sweet or too sour" face screwing up taste bud torture...that old saying "a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down" may well be true but I have a sneaky feeling that this particular "cold busting" remedy left me suffering from a mega sugar induced hyperactive high.
Yesterday was intended to be a "rest and recuperation/ take things easy/chill out/pottering around in the cubbyhole/nothing exciting or strenuous" day but the minute I saw the new coloured Distress Ink Pad labels on Tim's Facebook page from Ranger...I was off on a "sugar filled crafting high" adventure...

all I had to do was click Print...peel and stick and half an hour later...the job's a good un...
but obviously not quite enough to satisfy this crafter's craving so I moved on to have a little nosey into the gorgeous Flower Shop Pop Up Card Kit from Craftwork Cards...
and before I could stop myself I'd cut the front flap off the pop-up card and in a little world all of my own...happily colouring the Flower Shop topper with Distress Markers...
these cards are so deliciously dimensional...it was definitely going to end up an "all angles" photo fest...

The old Manuka Honey may well be what the doctor ordered but I suspect that the real remedy for my ills was this "love what I do and do what I love" bit of impromptu crafting...fingers crossed the high lasts right through the weekend for my hot date with all those lovely Craft Retreat folks.
Which reminds me...today is going to be a "tidy up this old crafter" day...taming the "mind of it's own" hair and the grungy nails definitely need a bit of work before I pack up the jalopy with all the Craft Retreat bits and pieces ready for an early start tomorrow. Toodle-oo for now.
