and my disastrous attempt to create the circle halo effect I used on yesterday's card all because I didn't warm up my brain...make sure my ears were working properly or indeed give our beloved Professor my undivided attention when I watched his "HOW TO" video (sorry Mr H). And I know exactly where it all went pear shaped...it's important that you rub the glaze gently into the paper and because I used the textured side of the watercolor paper...this obviously didn't happen and that's why I ended up with colour where I didn't want it...
and a Bird Crazy Catastrophe...
So the moral of the story...don't do as I do...do as Mr H says and you'll be fine.

I'm probably one the few crafters on the planet who are not crazy about Tim's Crazy Birds. However, Your cards are so cute, that I might have to change my mind! :)
ReplyDeleteDespite your halos not being totally 'clean', I still think this is a fabulous card. Many thanks for getting back to me about the finish the glaze creates.

I'm like Barbara, not totally bird crazy, but you are making me waver...cute cute card Kath xx
ReplyDeleteCan't see a problem with the haloes. Love the card!
ReplyDeleteIt is still a really lovely card:)
ReplyDeleteI am totally bird crazy and I LOVE your gorgeous card today Kath. I will remember your advice when I finally get to make my tag.... Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteYou've made Tim's crazy birds so cute and I love the sentiment too. I wasn't instantly drawn to these birds at first either but you've made a lovely card using these, despite the bit of ink getting where you didn't want it. If you hadn't mentioned your mistake, I would continued to think it was part of the plan.

I like this one Kath because it looks 'distressed' and if you hadn't mentioned it was an error I wouldn't have known, as others have said above. It was a serendipity card - will be posting this one to my Crazy Birds inspiration board: love it that much. Enjoy your new stash, and it looks like you had a fun Nanna week too! Karen x
ReplyDeleteI would be delighted if I made such a wonderful card! In any case, thanks for the tip.
