and

and the theme for this week is...
MAKE AN ARTIST TRADING CARD
Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world.
The only official rule for ATCs is the size 2.5" x 3.5"

I have to confess when I saw this week's challenge...there was a huge intake of breath followed by a major panic moment because the thought of working on such a small area scares the living daylights out of me but a challenge is a challenge and it's good sometimes to take yourself out of your comfort zone and challenge your creativity...you don't know how it will go until you try.
I made a trio of ATCs with a Halloween theme using the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Label Frames stamp set...the second largest stamp in the set is the perfect size and I couldn't resist having a play with the fabulous new Tim Holtz/Sizzix Halloween Thinlits...
and at risk of sounding immodest they turned out better than I thought. But old habits die hard and my brain soon returned to larger surface mode so I used my spooky trio to decorate a Halloween Wall Hanger...
I stamped the label frame on to 3 different scraps of Tim Holtz Ideaology Halloween Paper Stash using Simon Says Intense Black Dye Ink, backed them on to white card and trimmed around the edges...
I used a selection of die cuts from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Haunted House, Village Graveyard, Witchcraft and Scarecrow, trimming them down to fit...
added Ideaology Clippings and inked around the edges with a Black Soot Distress Oxide
Halloween Fringing...
and Halloween Remnant Rubs...
I used an 8 x 8 sheet of paper from the Halloween Paper Stash as the background for the wall hanger and die cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Cobweb from the black paper in the Ideaology KraftStock Paper Stash, fixing it in place with Distress Collage Medium...easy peasy...no fiddling around with dots of glue.
I used the Rosette Layering Stencil with Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide to add some colour to the background and added Black Soot around the edges...
I used Idea-ology Boneyard Findings to create the "H" and added Label Letters to complete the word, added an Apothecary Vial filled with Bones, Adornments Spiders coloured with Black Soot Distress Paint fixed to Black Eclectic Elements Thread...
a Broomstick, a Word Band coloured with Spiced Marmalade Distress Paint, Idea-ology Fringe (my new addiction) and Typography letters coloured with Spiced Marmalade Distress Paint and sanded back...

  16. I adore your ATC artworks - they do look great gathered on the larger background, but for my money they're at their best in their tiny selves! Brilliant use of the die-cuts - a trio of spooky deliciousness. I adore ATCs, and I'm so surprised at how many of the DT are first-timers!

  20. Wow, wow, wow! For someone who was terrified of making small pieces of art, you absolutely rose to the occasion and then some! I adore Halloween and here you've combined every good thing about Halloween and beauty! I love the incorporation of the frame stamp set, which I've always wanted to see demonstrated. I think you are safe to consider yourself a small art genius after this display and I enjoyed them thoroughly. You're so clever in the way you use Tim's products!
