and the theme for this week is...
ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL
I decided to make a start filling up my Chrismas Card Box with the help of a favourite Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bird Crazy feathered friend and the Merry sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Stained Glass Greetings...you could say it was a fun "killing two (or even 6) birds with one stone" production line adventure.
I started off by cutting 6 panels from Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red/Black and Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, stamped the sentiment from Stained Glass Greetings with Versamark and Candied Apple Distress Oxide inks and heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine White and Clear Embossing powders.
I added strips of paper from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Christmas Paper Stash to the bottom of the panels and stamped one of the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Swirly Snowflakes with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.I stamped my favourite feathered friend (along with extra eyes, beaks and wings) from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bird Crazy on to Distress Watercolor card with Distress Black Soot Archival ink...
and die cut using the matching Tim Holtz.Sizzix Framelits...
To save me from holding each bird down while I applied colour, I popped them back into the die cut spaces and used Brushed Mahogany and Candied Apple Distress inks to turn them into cute Robin Redbreasts...
I stamped the Santa Hat from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Crazy Things, coloured with Candied Apple Distress Marker and die cut using the matching Framelits.
I added splatters with Picket Fence Distress Paint to the cards and Glossy Accents to the white sections of the hats, sprinkled with Distress Rock Candy Glitter.
I stamped the Christmas word sentiment on to strips of black and red card with Versamark ink, heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine White Embossing powder and added some sequins for a little bit of sparkly Christmas Bling.
