Butterfly Burst Blackout
Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card using products from Simon Says Chunky Thankful Greetings September Card Kit. The kit is still available to purchase or if you wish, you can buy individual items from the kit HERE.
The minute I saw the beautiful Butterfly Burst Embossing Folder included in the kit, I knew it would be perfect to use with the blackout technique.#I trimmed the Simon Says Cotton Candy cardstock included in the kit in half and scored and folded to make a side folding A2 card. I trimmed the other half to 4" x 5.1/4", embossed with the Butterfly Burst embossing folder and dragged Simon Says Intense Black ink over the debossed side of the panel.Tuesday, August 27, 2024
Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Halloween Whatnots
Hello my friends, I'm back to share the third project I made for the YouTube Live launch of Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Halloween release. If you missed the Live, you can always catch up with the new stamps and stencils and all the amazing inspiration from the Makers over on Tim's YouTube Channel and Blog.
I made 3 acetate cards using Halloween Whatnots to create tone on tone backgrounds and embossed sentiments.
I began by trimming Distress Black Heavystock and White cardstock to A2 and fixed the black panel on the inside of pre-made A2 acetate cards from Simon Says stamp and the white panels on the back of the cards. I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create 3 - 4" x 5.1/4" panels and coloured with Crackling Campfire/Spiced \Marmalade, Wilted Violet/Villainous Potion and Twisted Citron/ Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks. I inked the Halloween Whatnots with Crackling Campfire, Villainous Potion Distress Oxide inks, stamped repeatedly over the backgrounds, sprinkled with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I repeated the process on the green background, inked with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. I stamped the Something Wicked sentiment and the cobweb from Boo Crazy with Black Soot Distress Oxide on the orange background and heat set with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder.I fixed the panels on the inside of the cards. I stamped the cobweb and Whatnots sentiments on the front of the acetate cards, inked with Versamark ink, sprinkled with Ranger White Detail embossing powder and heat set.I fixed strong double sided adhesive to both sides of Distress Black HeavyStock, peeled back the carrier sheet and sprinkled with Distress Glitter Nightfall. If you don't have this glitter, you can make your own using Distress Rock Candy Glitter and Pitch Black Alcohol Ink. I placed the card in to folded copy paper and ran through my die cutting machine to make sure the glitter was fixed firmly in place. I then die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Wicked and Gothic Portraits Thinlits and fixed to the front of the cards. To finish I punched two holes on the edges of the cards, threaded through black ribbon and tied in a knot to secure.I'll be back soon to share more makes using the fabulous stamps and stencils from the Halloween release and I'm sure you'll have fun too when yours arrive.

Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous - Boo Crazy
Hello my friends, I'm back to share the trio of cards I made for the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous YouTube Live launch of the Halloween release using the super cute ghosts and sentiments from Boo Crazy on Alcohol Ink backgrounds. The Boo Crazy Family all dressed up and ready to party, apart from Dad who does look a tad grumpy.
I began by trimming Tim Holtz/Ranger Ink White Yupo to create 3 - 4.5" x 6.5" panels. I added Blending Solution on to the first panel, drops of Gravel, Smudge, Chronicle and Flannel Alcohol Inks from the new release, moved them around with the Distress Blower, added more ink and blending solution and played around until I was happy with the background.I inked the cobweb image from Boo Crazy and the sentiments from Halloween What Nots with Alcohol Lift Ink, stamped on to the panel and patted the images repeatedly with kitchen towel until the images appeared as if by magic.I inked the ghost images from Boo Crazy with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, stamped on to scraps of Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Dura-Lar which is a clear transparent heat tolerant surface, sprinkled with Ranger Black Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I coloured the back of the Dura-Lar with Gravel, Smudge and Snowcap Mixative using a blending tool with felt pad. I fussy cut the images leaving a small border around the edge, smeared the back with Ranger Glossy Accents using my finger, fixed to scraps of Distress Watercolor card and fussy cut again.I repeated the process with the sentiments from Boo Crazy, fixed to Distress Black HeavyStock and trimmed to leave a small border.I'll be back soon to share the 3rd project I made for the Live, in the meantime, Happy Stampers Anonymous Shopping and have fun when your stamps and stencils arrive.
