Sea Life Shaker Card

Hello my friends, I'm back to share a shaker card made with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Sea Life and Tiny Text stamp sets and the recently released co-ordinating dies from Simon Says Stamp. The dies for the Sea Life set are definitely a game changer - no more holding my breath, gingerly trying to fussy cut around the eight tentacles on the octopus and praying I don't end up with an unintentional amputation.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4.1/2" x 6.1/2" and coloured using Broken China and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks. I used a large circle die to create an aperture. I used that die and a slightly smaller die to cut frames from Distress Kraft HeavyStock and coloured with Scorched Timber Distress Ink using the direct to paper technique. I fixed acetate behind the aperture, stacked the frames to create dimension and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Stuff To Say through Simon Says Stamp Extra Large Dots Stencil, inked with Scorched Timber Distress Ink, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I removed the stencil to remove the ink, placed back over the panel and applied Distress Texture Paste Transparent Gloss randomly to add texture and interest on the background.
I stamped the octopus on to Distress Watercolor card, inked with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder, heat set and die-cut using the Sea Life Co-ordinating dies.
I repeated this process with the greenery from the Sea Life stamp set, inked with Broken China and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks and Scorched Timber Distress Ink.
I fixed the die-cut centre to a 5" x 7" panel of Distress Black HeavyStock and added Gina K Shaker Strips around the circle and on the back of the front panel. I added Simon Says Stamp Tidal Wave and Starbright Embellishment Mixes and Prima Art Stones from my stash and placed the front panel on top.
I fixed the octopus and greenery in place with Distress Collage Medium and Simon Says 3D Thin Foam Squares and added Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Screwheads to the shaker frame.
To add a little bit of colour to the panel, I coloured the Prima Art Stones with Ranger Alcohol Pearl Ink Splendor.
I set the Art Stones into small puddles of Distress Collage Medium and set aside to dry. I stamped the sentiments from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text, inked with Simon Says White Pigment Ink on to scraps of Distress Black HeavyStock, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder, heat set, die-cut with Simon Says Tiny Text co-ordinating dies and fixed in place with 3D Thin Foam Squares.
To finish I matted the panel on to a 5" x 7" white card blank.

Happy Crafting
