an age old tradition that takes me right back to my childhood...
scraping out that bowl and licking the spoon...
just one last task...making a Christmas decoration for the kitchen with some cheap as chips "reduced in price packs " of teeny weeny baubles from the supermarket and what I thought would be a "grab some twigs from the garden and drape with baubles" didn't quite go according to plan...
the baubles just didn't hang right so I ended up cutting off the strings and wiring each one on to the branches...yes 50 little blighters in all...
a bit of a labour of love which took most of the afternoon but hey I love my sparkly bauble tree for...wait for it....ONE POUND...
And just like all those celebs...we'll be having our own little wrap party tonight...yes me and my faithful furry partner...
who's been there every step of the way and licked the kitchen floor clean goodness knows how many times will be chilling out tonight...a glass or two of something festive for me and a great big juicy bone for The Furry Boy. Believe me I need to stock up on some fortification and prepare myself for the last minute bits and pieces shop at M&S...if last year is anything to go by...it's going to be BEDLAM.
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx
I have a special twig tree reminiscent of yours, but mine is a snowman tree with many, many snowmen from years of collecting. Some are under the tree as well. Instead of a glass container, mine is in a tall wicker basket and I keep it up during the winter season because it is a snowman tree. The grandsons love it and so do I. maybe, I'll decorate one with baubles like yours for another spot, because I like it, too! But that will be for next year. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Kath. What a wonderful bauble tree. I do love natural things and this is stunning. My younger daughter has one very similar, but with hearts on it. Sending you wishes for a Wonderful Christmas and a Bright and Crafty New Year. Hugs Rita xxx

ReplyDeleteYour twig and bauble tree is very smart Kath - I got some similar tiny baubles from Lidl for our little white tree - dropped one only to discover they were real glass - shards went far and wide - thank heavens for Mr Dyson! Mary x

I wish I could say the same Kath. Just returned from my last minute fresh buys - lordie it's blowing up a gale out there. Still haven't iced my cake yet (I tell you it will be Boxing Day again!) Up to the village hall this evening to set out the tables and prepare for Christmas Day lunch - sold every ticket again this year. Then maybe tomorrow I will get around to the ironing and have a very large drink! Love your twiggy tree and in case I don't get to the computer tomorrow - Wishing you and Buddy a very Happy Christmas and hope you both get lots of lovely pressies. X
ReplyDeleteHi Kath, love the twigs, I went looking for the same but couldn't find what I wanted so gave up. Next year I'll start looking really early. Soups cooking the dumplings made we'll just have to transport them to our son's for Christmas day lunch now. Enjoy your well earned feet up time at the telly, I'm looking forward to Downton no sad ending this year though. Merry Christmas to you and the family...Trish
