But I didn't want to alarm my lovely crafty girls too much...covered in ink in the first five minutes probably wouldn't go down well so we started off rather tentatively lightly spraying through the stencils for a clean and simple look...
and woohoo am I in love with this Tattered flower...die cut from fabric...burlap and those gorgeous recently purchased canvas shapes...
Card Number 2 and time to be a little bit bolder...using 2 colours with a bit of water flicking thrown in for good measure...inking through the alphabet stencil with Distress Ink and using a fine liner pen to draw through the leaves stencil finishing off with a bit of cross hatching...
and then we inked through the stencils with Versamark and embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder and then let rip with the inks...
We had great fun in our little toe dipping session into the world of Dylusion Inks...it was great to see some new faces and they all took to spritzing inks like ducks to water and what I love about techniques like these...no 2 cards are ever going to be the same...
loved the alphabet on this one placed at a jaunty angle...why didn't I think of that...
happy crafters ready for a rub-a-dub dub scrub up before lunch...
I'll be back tomorrow to share what we made in the afternoon...using all the techniques from the morning to make a wall hanger.
Hugs Kath xxx
They are all gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job with the inks!
Good Morning Kath. Sounds as if you had a lovely inky and messy day. I find it hard to control those sprays mind you. Beautiful work by everyone in your class and going by the smiles on their faces, they have enjoyed it too. Hugs Rita xxx

ReplyDeleteHi Kath great pictures, the first one made me smile, the concentration by the girls was wonderful, and the coffee cups to keep them going. The finished samples are really lovely and it looks like winners all round x
ReplyDeleteSo, so, so gorgeous! This would be exactly the kind of workshop I'd want to sign up for, as I love the look of the technique, but wouldn't have a clue where to start!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards all, though I think the first is my favourite. x
Gorgeous cards Kath and a lovely technique. x
ReplyDeleteLove what you came up with.
ReplyDeleteHi Kath I enjoyed this post of your lovely, messy, inky, arty cards. Great messy fun, I'd bet!
ReplyDeleteMy wee tip; I spray inside a box to save a bit of clean up.

I'm very wary of using spray inks as I am very heavy handed. I like Alexandra's tip for spraying inside a cardboard box, but where do I get one big enough to climb into? lol

Lovely projects Kath.
ReplyDeleteLots of spritzy gorgeousness - I take it you're a convert now, with those beautiful cards to show for it?! Adore the blue and brown, and that first CAS one too - amazing.
