Hi folks....what a great afternoon of the tennis...obviously I'm hugely disappointed for Roger but fair play to Novak...he was just too good and so deserved the title of Wimbledon Champion 2015...both great role models and ambassadors for sport...gracious in victory and defeat but after 2 weeks of couch potato tennis viewing...it's time for me to return to the "unusually tidy" cubbyhole...
there's a definite Monday Morning Blues feeling in the air...it's going to be hard to get back into the crafty routine again ..so much to do and not a scooby doo where to start and just when you need him...Mr Mojo's done a runner again. And here's the conumdrum...will it be DT stuff...
or a return to the Fiskars kitting...
or up and coming workshop stuff...
So while I treat myself to one more cuppa in the garden and ponder over this dilemma...I have a question/conumdrum for all you keen gardeners out there...can anyone tell me the name of this plant...
I didn't plant it...have no idea how it got here...
it's a bulb obviously...smells of onion and looks a little bit like wild garlic but according to Mr Google...wild garlic or Allium Ursinum to give it it's posh name has white flowers so the mystery deepens. And staying in the garden...why don't you pop over tomorrow so that I can introduce you to my new friend.

If it is related to the wild garlic.....be aware as it will tend to take over the garden.

ReplyDeleteIt is an Allium Moly of course! Lol - I saw Anne's answer on your FB page, isn't she clever! It is beautiful and if, like Barbara says, it might take over the garden you could always plant it in a deep pot and sink the pot into the garden to stop it spreading so much.

I was disappointed too but at least we got to see him take his shirt off - a wonderful Mr Darcy moment type moment.... Hugs, Anne xx

I was going to say that your plant might be related to wild garlic family especially since it a bulb and smells of onion.
Loving the tidy craft room. I'm in the process of giving mine a good clear out but it is a long road.

ReplyDeleteI have to hold my hand up and say that I was thrilled that Novack won the final! I love both of them but my heart belongs to the quiet Serb with the wonderful sense of humour. I'm glad you got your plant identified. As soon as I saw it I though 'wild garlic' or a very close relative. Down here in Cornwall in the field next to my garden, there is the normal white flowered variety and there is also pink!! I have some in my garden but am keeping an eye on it and pulling it up every once in a while before it takes over...not that it wouldn't be an improvement lol. I wish my cubby hole was half as tidy...I have to share it with a small chest freezer and a tumble dryer as the bungalow is so small there is no room in the kitchen for them. Were it not for that I think I would steal your wonderful man to do a remodel for me. xx
Had a quick look on Google and found alium moly. Looks very similar to me.

It's a kind of Alium, I have some on my rockery which I didn't plant but it hasn't spread anywhere else, I quite like it

My first reaction was, "Oh my goodness, Kath has been robbed, while she's been off galavanting around the countryside"!! Glad to hear it was just a little television/tennis break on your part.
