It hasn't been an easy decision but sometimes you have to listen to your head instead of your heart... I'm feeling incredibly sad as I put pen to paper because it's been great fun and I've made wonderful friendships along the way...a huge thank you to the lovely Mary and Andrea at The Ribbon Girl and all my team mates (I've been with these very special girls since they opened their online store in 2010 so this was the hardest decision of all) and everyone at Craftstash for giving me the opportunity to work with their fabulous products and to Joy and her family at Inspiration Emporium for their kindness and generosity and my wonderful talented IE team mates for their friendship and support...I will miss you all lots.
But you should know by now...I don't do things by halves...changes are a-foot in the blog department too...having blogged daily since February 2008...the everyday diary format will be no more...we're going from Page-A-Day to something more in tune with Week-To-View or something in between...giving you all a break from the becoming more common fill-in waffling posts. I do sometimes wonder how relevant blogging is now compared to Facebook Twitter and Pinterest but for now...you're stuck with me and The Furry Boy...just not so often.
And when you're feeling down in the dumps there's no better therapy than a little bit of crafting so I'm off to the cubbyhole for some "just for me" playtime...see you later in the week.
Hugs Kath xxx
totally understand and they do say change is as good as a rest. sending hugs
ReplyDeletei will miss your daily blog but i know about priorities and taking care of yourself and it looks like that's what you're doing - take care - hugs
ReplyDeleteGood on you Kath, for taking some 'me' time - enjoy it
ReplyDeleteI'll miss you Kath and Buddy - sending all good wishes to you - enjoy some me time for a change, love from Mary xx
ReplyDeleteI know exactly where you're coming from and wish I could do something similar in terms of cutting down, but don't know where. Good luck Kath and take care xxx
ReplyDeleteI think these are all very sensible work life balance decisions Kath. Glad to hear that you will still be blogging. ....after 5 years I still love the blogging world and for me Twitter Instagram etc are just not the same way to share our artistic world. Long live blogging but I agree writing a post every single day must become more hard work than fun! Happy September xx
ReplyDeleteThere comes a point when you have to strike the right balance and it sounds like you will be encompassing a bit more "me" time in your world...good for you.
ReplyDeleteToni xx
Hi Kath, this must have been a hard decision to make, but you are so doing the right thing, and I wish you all the very best with many days of 'just chilling' with your wonderful Buddy. On a selfish note I look forward to your occaisional blogging post.Enjoy crafting on a wants to rather than a needs to basis. All the best dear blog friend x
ReplyDeleteHugs xx
ReplyDeleteI do totally understand and have had to make similar changes not so long ago. I will miss your daily ramblings, I always read them even if I don't comment but I'm sure your posts will still be just as good :D
ReplyDeletehugs and can't wait to see what you're doing with those goodies x
hugsxxx
You do seem to be a very busy lady and I don't know how you manage it all. I quite understand as you don't want crafting to become too much, there are other things in life. I shall miss your daily posts but was worried you were giving up blogging altogether, so glad you will still keep us entertained. Blogging seems as popular as ever I think, love catching up with everyone on blogs and also on FB. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel the benefits of the change Kath, and I do hope that we still hear from you, and of course your helper, Buddy, I think it's the best thing to do, re-charge the batteries and go from there....enjoy...xxx
ReplyDeleteI made the same decision a while back, and as you know I found it liberating. The world didn't stop turning because I wasn't breaking my neck to blog every day and I enjoyed getting off the treadmill. You will have more time to get up to all sorts of new adventures to regale us with when you blog about them, and we will all be here to read and laugh as usual
ReplyDeleteGood decision my friend
love

You know I have wondered if you are really three people! I don't know how you managed a daily blog post on top of everything else you do. You are an inspiration for so many reasons. It's good to know you are taking care of yourself. Big hugs to you and Buddy.
ReplyDeleteHi Kath. I can understand you giving up a few things. But thank heaven you are not leaving us for good. No matter what you write in your blog, I always have a giggle. Enjoy your new time. Look forward to what comes next. Big hug for Buddy. And many thanks to you. Hugs. Jan. x
ReplyDeleteOh my, It will be sad not too see your wonderful posts so often and those groups will really miss you. I do understand however that ME time is vital to keep your sanity. Enjoy your free craft time and keep making wonderful projects as only you can.

Hi Kath
ReplyDeleteYou made a very hard but right decision. Sometimes we try to do everything and then get a wake up call to tell us to slow down. I will miss my daily fix of you and Buddy but look forward to the weekly one. Take care.
Love Angela x
Kath..sometimes change is as good as a rest. I will miss reading about your daily hijinks in the cubbyhole...yours is the first blog I read every morning with my tea at my side ... you're the best! Have a great day and a big hug to Buddy.
ReplyDeleteLinda
I sure understand you wanting to step back a bit but I know what you mean. I love your posts and will miss seeing them every day but I'll still check in to see what you are up to in your new free time!
ReplyDeleteLeaning a DT is so hard. We are all family. I get it. But you do need to step back and reboot. We give all the time when we create.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we all should take a step back and indulge in some "me" time. Creativity can totally flourish when you give it a little space to grow. I am looking forward to all that you share whether it be daily, weekly or monthly! Be true to yourself and have fun! ~chris
ReplyDeleteМне Вас будет не хватать :-((, буду скучать... Но понимаю, и принимаю мудрое решение. Удачи Вам и всего наилучшего!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with balancing Kath! I will look for your posts when you do share with us. I can't imagine blogging daily - that is a big task. =) Have fun crafting at a more restful pace.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely miss your blog every day, you always cheer me up with your daily antics and missives! Like you I will miss the IE team too but I have to say, since I cut down (just a few days ago) on doing so much blogging I already feel a good deal better for it and actually spent a whole day crafting yesterday - a whole day!! It was quite liberating. I will keep an eye out on FB for any posts you do so that I don't miss them whilst on my 'break'. Big hugs, Anne xxxx
ReplyDeleteGood for you Kath, I will miss reading your blog everyday but glad you're not giving it up altogether. Enjoy your new lease of life.
ReplyDeleteLorraine x
Even though I don't comment often I loved reading your and Buddy's posts but at the same time wondererd how you managed to do it every single day in combination with everything else coming out the cubby hole.
ReplyDeleteI soooooooooo don't like FB and it's a shame blogging has become less ever since but you made the right decision.........enjoy your free time and I look forward to updates and stunning creations from time to time Kath.
All the best, xx Irene
Kath and Buddy,
ReplyDeleteI will truly miss you, I liked the little deviations from the "craft" blog to sharing little bits of your life. The shopping trips, the vacations with the grand kids and of course the "craft" shows, and classes. I don't do FB, Twitter or the other people.
Please enjoy your free time and I will look forward to your posts when you post them. Stay crafty and help keep us crafty.
From across the pond,
Diane
I will miss you and buddy daily talks I amazed at how you manage to do everything you do, If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have found craft obsessions and Tim Holtz wonderful crafty things I thank you for this, enjoy your rest and will see your blog post through bloglovin. Take care xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Kath,
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me, but I do know your buddy Enfys. I've had morning coffee and read your blog so many years now I forget when I started. Just to say, I will sorely miss it - if I wake up here in the US in the middle of the night it's already there and I take a peek before I get back to sleep. I love hearing about your dog and your travels with your buddies on Friday - even if it is not crafting stuff. So if you are only going to let us have a sneaky peek at your life once a week (a DRASTIC reduction!! ha!!) I hope you will keep us posted about your golden bundle of deliciousness doggie and how you are doing, too. I will very much miss your posts, and hope that you will sneak in maybe twice a week. :-) Wishing you all the best. I feel like I know you even though we have never met.

I so love coming to your blog everyday and checking in on you and Buddy. I love to get inspiration from all your projects but don't know how yow do everything. I think I last blogged in January - as you say so many other ways to share projects etc. You are so right - you need to prioritise and be able to have a little free time and not constantly chasing deadlines xxx
ReplyDeleteI am so sad to see your term at Inspiration Emporium come to an end. It has been a real privilege to call you a teammate and friend! I really have enjoyed your daily shenanigans with furry boy! Converting to weekly or so posts makes me happy I still get to pop in on you in blogland and Facebook! Big Hug!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I will miss your posts, I totally understand. In fact I dont know how you have managed to do it for so long!
ReplyDeleteYou are a star!
It's been a joy to read your blog daily, and quite honestly I've often wondered how you kept up with so much! You deserve to cut back and enjoy yourself more. I'm just glad you're not leaving completely like many others have. Hugs to you and the "furboy".
ReplyDeleteWow - I don't blame you... I keep thinking I want to downscale my DT duties, and they're nothing compared to yours - a daily commitment would be a road to insanity for me! Your amazing creativity is always appreciated, and will be just as much fun in less regular doses. I bet you'll find a whole new lease of creative life having freed yourself from some of those commitments.
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
You have more followers than you think! I don't leave a comment because my IPad doesn't always cooperate .....you are loved and highly favored by God and the crafting community......we love your creations and your ability to make us smile! Thanks for all of your hard work!
