Spring Flowers...Day 1

Hi folks...I fell in love with the gorgeous "Spring Flower" stamp set from the Simon Says Stamp "Reason To Smile" collection the minute I saw it...
but it sold out almost immediately and I had to wait for it to come back in stock...good things come to those who wait. I'll be sharing 4 days of  "Spring Flower" stamping..starting off with a very simple Distress Ink Blending Technique using some of the other goodies that came in my DT parcels...

I stamped the Paperartsy Mini Brick Stamp and the circle icon from Spring Flowers on to the background paper with Black Archival...die cut an oval aperture from black card using two of the Memory Box Stitched Oval Layer Dies and stamped the sentiment from WPlus9 Hand Lettered Hello in the centre...
I stamped the flowers and leaves on to white card using Versamark Ink and heat embossed using Ranger White Detail Embossing Powder. Then I coloured the flowers using Distress Mini Ink Pads and blending tools...easy peasy and no worries about going over the lines because they're going to be cut out leaving a thin border around the edges...
and voila...one quick and easy card...finished off with a little splattering of Black Soot Distress Paint and a few sequins...
and I couldn't let the negative from the oval aperture go to waste so I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Big Scripty Greetings in Versamark and heat embossed with Ranger Fine Detail White Embossing Powder...

See you all tomorrow for something entirely different using little pots of pearly magic...
Hugs Kath xxx

  3. Absolutely gorgeous! Now, why have I never thought of using emboss resist work to make individual elements of a design like that? I always use it either as background or incorporated somehow into the overall design

  7. Hi Kath,
What a beautiful card! I love the way you coloured the flowers, that's a technique I'm going to try and I can NEVER stay within the lines lol. I think I'm going to have to see if I can find that stamp set as it's really cool...off to do a search for it :)
