If you missed the launch, you can catch up over on Tim's Blog HERE and check out all the new Dies, Texture Fades and so many beautiful inspirational samples.
I began by covering the tag with dark green paper from last year's Idea-ology Christmas Paper Pad using Distress Collage Medium, applied a very light coat of White Gesso using a dry brush and sanded the edges to neaten and remove any excess paper. I added Idea-ology Christmas Ephemera, applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium over the tag and added shading around the Ephemera with Walnut Stain Distress Crayon, smudging the colour in with my finger and added highlights around the edges with Picket Fence Distress Crayon. I painted Distress Watercolor Card with Speckled Egg and Cracked Pistachio Distress Paints to get a slight variation in colour and die-cut the larger Stunning Snowflake from this card and the smaller snowflake from Distress Watercolor card, layered on top and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I die-cut HOME in the same way using the Alphanumeric Shadow Upper Thinlits, added a few shadows around the edges of shadow sections and the Idea-ology Ephemera using Cracked Pistachio Distress Crayon and fixed the letters die-cut from Distress Watercolor card on top. I added stars from Idea-ology Gilded Christmas Remnant Rubs to add a little bit of sparkle.
I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to Distress Watercolor card, Idea-ology Classic, Gold Metallic Kraftstock and Idea-ology Substrates and die-cut all the pieces to create the beautiful Holiday village using the Holiday Colorize Thinlits
and assembled following the indent marks on the die-cuts
I die-cut the buildings from the Idea-ology Substrates Sheet which is a retired product but you may still have some tucked away in your stash and it was perfect to create the gingerbread Christmas look I was aiming for.
Sadly at this point, my camera didn't record the next steps but I basically applied a layer of Distress Collage Medium to the Speckled Egg/Cracked Pistachio card and Distress Watercolor card, dusted with Distress Rock Candy Glitter and once dry, die-cut all the snow pieces and trees and assembled.
To finish I added Idea-ology Christmas Clippings Stickers, a frayed bow created from Idea-ology Mummy cloth and a twine bow.
I'll be back soon to share another Christmas themed Etcetera Tag, in the meantime, have fun with whatever you are creating.
