Hello Summer...

Hi folks...I wasn't intending posting today but "Hello Summer" has arrived in the cubbyhole...not literally I may add...don't get excited...after 4 days of non stop rain...I've given up hope of ever seeing that big yellow ball in the sky again. I'm referring to the cute "Summertime Animals" stamp set that the lovely Heidi and folks at Simon Says Stamp sent me to play with from their latest release "Among The Stars"...
wow...so many gorgeous stamps and dies to add to our wishlists...seriously you need to go and check out the whole collection HERE
if you've been following my blog for a while...you'll know that watercolouring and cutie images are way out of my comfort zone but hey ho...nothing ventured...nothing gained...if it all goes pear-shaped and ends up in the bin...well who's ever going to know.
But it turned out better than I thought and was less of a challenge than getting a half decent photograph in this lack of daylight weather...so let me introduce you to Stan...isn't he adorable
I stamped the sun image with the gorgeous Duckling Ink Pad from Simon Says Stamp and also coloured strips of card with the same colour using the direct to paper technique...stamped the sun image for a tone on tone effect and the hashtag and sentiment in Black Archival. Then I stamped Stan and the ice cream cones with Black Archival Ink on to Ranger Watercolour Card and coloured with the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolour Set...

Fingers crossed the weather takes the hint and just like Stan I'll be tucking into an ice cream cone...strawberry...mint or chocolate chip...well a girl can dream...can't she.

    Stan can come and stay with me anytime Kath !! Great fun !! Forcast is rain all day for us today, but don't care as I'm having a crafty play day with a friend. Got some new Stampin Up stamps to play with !!

    I don't think you need to worry about your watercolouring Kath, these images are super cute - I love the gorgeous yellow on the suns! Hubby loves flamingos - love the one in the set, may just have to invest.... you are such an enabler! Dull and grey here too.... Hugs, Anne xx

    Super cute card! We have had no rain so far today but the clouds are starting to roll in so no doubt we will have rain tonight :( I want the sun and hot weather to return too!
