and the theme for this week is...
USE PATTERNED PAPERS
and hey we all have plenty of those but I decided to use my favourites at the moment from the Tim Holtz Dapper 12x12 Paper Stash to decorate a chipboard tile. You may be thinking that these papers have a masculine look about them but I hope I will persuade you otherwise with my floral themed tile...
After covering the tile with paper I created texture using the Flourish stencil from Mini Layering Stencils Set 10 and Wendy Vecchi's fabulous Crackled Texture Paste and once it was dry I inked around the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink (not shown in photo)
I used Sizzix Tim Holtz Garden Greens and Tattered Poinsettia dies to cut the leaf stems and flowers from contrasting papers...I also cut the leaf stems from white cardstock to give them a little bit of body...
I crumpled up the flowers and inked around the edges of the flowers and leaf stems with Gathered Twigs...added a double twine bow, a Dapper Design Fastener to hold the 3 flowers together and highlighted the leaf stems with a Signo Uniball White Pen. I added some Picket Fence and Gathered Twigs splatters using a fine paintbrush.
I stamped the tickets and sentiment from Tim Holtz Odds and Ends in Black Archival on to contrasting papers...cut them out...inked around the edges with Gathered Twigs and fixed in place with 3D foam pads.
I added a strip of paper and Dapper Design Tape...smudged Distress Collage Medium Matte around the edges with my finger and sprinkled with Prima Mini Art Stones...
and I hope you'll agree it doesn't look so masculine after all...
