Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
and the theme for this week is...
GRUNGE IT UP
I created a grungy Art Journal Page featuring the grumpy, full of attitude Arthur from the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Chapter 3 Colorize Collection and before I get lots of e-mails about the mis-spell of attitude, let's just say that Arthur obviously didn't pay attention in the English class and Spell Checker had taken the day off.
I began by spritzing the pages of my Dylusions Creative Journal with water and used Antique Linen, Spiced Marmalade and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Sprays to add colour. I die-cut a circle aperture from Sizzix Stencil Film or you could use masking paper, applied Distress Texture Paste Crackle through the aperture and left the paste to dry. I added strips of Idea-ology Typeset Collage Paper and stamped the branch from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mr Bones and numbers from Field Notes inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink.
I inked the splatter stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mr Bones with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink, stamped randomly on the background and while the ink was still wet, sprinkled with Speckled Egg Distress Embossing Glaze and heat set.
I inked the background stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Lumberjack with Ground Espresso Distress Archival and stamped on to Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock.
I applied Distress Collage Medium Matte over the Texture Paste Crackle moon and once dry, scribbled on Ground Espresso Distress Crayon, rubbed it into the crackle with my finger and removed the excess with a dry cloth. I die-cut the hashtag and "atitude" from the stamped card and the rest of the wording from Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Shadow Lower, Shadow Numbers and Label Thinlits and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I die-cut the owl and the branch from Idea-ology Classic KraftStock, BlackOut KraftStock, Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock coloured with Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink and the remainder of the stamped card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Arthur Colorize Thinlits, assembled and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium .
I completed the wording using Idea-ology Small Talk Snarky Stickers
I finished off by adding splatters of White Gesso, sprinkled Stampendous Aged Black Chunky Glitter randomly over the background, Arthur and the branch and heat set.
