What's On My Workdesk Wednesday

Morning folks...Wednesdays seem to be coming round faster and faster...the day of the week when we all join in the fun over at Julia's place...aka WOYWW and let me apologise in advance for the same old boring workdesk ....back to the kitting I'm afraid.  But not just any old kitting job...it's the twice yearly marathon kitting extravaganza...the cubbyhole has been invaded by cardstock in all different colours ready to be transformed by magic (I wish) into 280 kits for the Fiskars Workshops at the NEC...a real "pull my big girl knickers right up to my chin" task but you have to be chilled out and philosophical about it...each one finished is one less to do otherwise the cubbyhole crew could be jumping ship and running for the hills...
And help was at hand from my lovely buddies at The Papeterie...especially the resident elf...the super duper cute Rachel who took my 2 boxes of cardstock down to the big guillotine and sliced them into square cards in the time it takes a cow to flick his tail...all I have to do is score and fold them.  I can't tell you the amount of work this will save me let alone the strain on my guillotine arm....so huge thank you hugs Rachel...you're a star....choccys will be winging their way to you on condition you let Charlotte have one or two.
the gorgeous stamps waiting to be packed into Saturday's Workshop Box...
And a girl needs to keep her spirits up on a busy busy working day and what better way than an energy boosting lunch...
so on today's menu is a huge bowl of Broccoli and Stilton Soup and yummy crusty bread....
But before we can get started on Kit Numero Uno....it's time for our chill out morning stroll.
Catch up with you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx
Edited to add...for all the folks who are not Stilton fans....believe me you don't taste it but it does give the soup a little bit of zing..

  2. Wow, look at all that perfectly sliced card!! Not to mention the broccoli - hubby can't stand the stuff but he will eat brocolli and apple soup. I think stllton may just be asking the impossible though. Might have to try it and see if I can disguise it enough.

  15. We had soup today - how funny! Kitting - I spend a lot of time doing it too, it never gets more pleasurable...but ironically, I LOVE to see it all packed and ready and laid out waiting....very satisfying!

  16. Phew - no wonder you need some fortification. Think my husband would be exhausted by the end of all the Rachmanninov piano concertos which would have to be accompanying any kitting I'd do en masse.
I need a helicopter to come help you - sans Rachmanninov I promise.

  17. Wow Kath that's some amount of kitting! Hope you've made good progress with it.

Soup sounds yummy, I often make Broccoli soup of one kind or another. I'm sure many people would eat and enjoy broccoli and stilton if they didn't know stilton was in it lol!

  18. I don't envy you the kit packing thing but those stamps are gorgeous - love the lace trim one. And broccoli and stilton soup is one of my favourites too ... in fact, I like any soup with cheese in it. Hope you had a refreshing walk and productive day. elizabeth x #53

  19. Mmmm - Broccoli & Stilton soup sounds YUM! Have you ever tried Cauliflower Cheese made with some Danish Blue or Stilton? Scrumptious! And using a little blue cheese to make cheese on toast rather than the usual cheddar is even more amazing, although it tends to be a bit runnier.

I digress. WTG you on all those kits. And well done Rachel for chipping in!

  22. What a fab friend to do all that cutting for you, I bet it saved you heaps of time. I’m going to be in wedding stationery mode very soon and will be doing lots of cutting so do you loan her out. Lol!

Loving the sets of stamps you’re using for the class. Can’t wait to see what you’re going to do with them.
    Happy Crafting!
