Simon Says - Use An Embossing Folder

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
Use An Embossing Folder
I created a love-themed card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Retro Type BigZ die, Typewriter 3D Texture Fade, Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Hearts Mini Layering Stencil and Simple Stories Happy Hearts papers from Simon Says Season of Sentiments February Card Kit.

I trimmed one of the Simple Stories Happy Hearts paper that came in Simon Says February Card Kit to 5" square, coloured lightly around the edge with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool and fixed to a 5.1/2" square white card blank. I coloured a piece of Distress Watercolor card with Speckled Egg and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide inks by smooshing the inks on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and embossed using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Typewriter 3D Texture Fade, I accented the raised letters by gently brushing the ink pad over the surface, tore sections from the panel and fixed to the card using Distress Collage Medium.
I applied Distress Texture Paste through the Hearts Mini Layering Stencil from Set 6, sprinkled with Simon Says White Embossing Powder and heat set once the paste was dry.
I coloured scraps of Distress Watercolor card with Speckled Egg and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide inks and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Retro Type BigZ die.
I stamped the background from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Composition and Lined, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink, on to the left over Frayed Burlap scrap, trimmed and tucked into the slot on the typewriter.
I fixed the typewriter on the card with foam adhesive to create dimension and added a heart stencilled with Texture Paste and coloured with Abandoned Coral Distress Paint. I fussy cut the envelopes and postcards from the Simple Stories Happy Hearts paper and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
trimmed a section of the Simple Stories Happy Hearts paper, fixed to a scrap of white card with Distress Collage Medium and trimmed to create sentiments.

Let It Snow

Hi my friends, there's no sign of snow yet but the wind has picked up and it's bitterfly cold so today's card may be appropriate after all. With the Simon Says Faceted Snowflakes Embossing Folder, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Scribbly Snowflakes Thinlits and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink still sitting on my workdesk from making yesterday's card, I added Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink into the mix and added images from Simon Says Season Of Joy stamp set from the Limited Edition Holiday Card Kit and another Idea-ology Christmas Label Sticker.I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", coloured with Villainous Potion and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks by smooshing the inks on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and embossed using Simon Says Faceted Snowflakes Embossing Folder. I repeated the embossing on another panel of Distress Watercolor card, trimmed to create snowbanks and fixed to the bottom of the panel, debossed side up, using Distress Collage Medium. I inked the images from Simon Says Season of Joy with Villainous Potion and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide inks, spritzed with water, stamped on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card and fussy cut. I inked the snowbanks lightly with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool to show the detail of the embossing and fixed the trees and deer in place with Distress Collage Medium and foam pads to create dimension. I die cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Scribbly Snowflakes Thinlits twice from Distress Watercolor card and again layered to create dimension. To finish, I added an Idea-ology Christmas Label Sticker and matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank.

Have a great weekend whatever you have planned and stay warm and cosy if it is cold where you are. And if you're heading over to Tim and Mario's Valentine inspired party on Saturday, I'll see you there.

Winter Wishes

Hi my friends, I'm getting ready to batten down the hatches because, according to the weather forecast, a heavy snowstorm is due to arrive in my little corner of the planet on Saturday. So this might be a good time to share a Winter Wishes card I made with one of my favourite Distress colours released in 2021, Villainous Potion, Simon Says Faceted Snowflakes Embossing Folder and Etched Berry Branch Die, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Scribbly Snowflakes and Idea-ology Christmas Label Stickers.

I began by colouring a 4" x 5.1/4" panel of Distress Watercolor card with a light wash of Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink and embossed using Simon Says Faceted Snowflakes Embossing Folder. I created a second panel by smooshing Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink on to my glass media mat, spritzed with water, laid the panel into the ink, dried, repeatedly tapped back into the ink to get that deep intensity of colour and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Scribbly Snowflakes Thinlits.  I die-cut Simon Says Etched Berry Branch die twice from Distress Watercolor card, layered to create dimension and fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium. I die-cut more snowflakes from Distress Watercolor card, also layered them to create dimension, fixed them to the panel and added an Idea-ology Christmas Label Sticker.
To finish I inked around the edge of the panel with Villainous Potion, sprinkled on Stampendous White Chunky Embossing Enamel from the Snowflakes set, heat set from underneath and matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank.

Today might also be a good time to head to my local M&S and stock up on snacks for Saturday's Valentine inspired YouTube Live over at Tim and Mario's place, 9AM PT, 12 noon ET and 5PM if, like me, you're in the UK. Stay warm and cosy if the weather is chilly where you are and have fun with whatever you're making.

Simon Says - Furry Friends

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
FURRY FRIENDS
I created a trio of love themed cards mixing old favourites, Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Snarky Cats, Stitches and Media Marks 2 with the new Heart Stencils/Masks and Big XOXO die from Simon Says And Back Again release.

I began by colouring 3 - 4" x 5.1/4" panels of Distress Watercolor card by smooshing Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and laid the panels into the ink, dried and then tapped back in to pick up the remaining droplets, repeated until I was happy and dried.
I applied Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink through the second smallest heart stencil from Simon Says Hearts Stencils/Masks using a mini round blending tool, flicked on water with the stencil still in place on all 3 panels.
I stamped the sentiments from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Snarky Cats, images from Stitches and Media Marks 2, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival.
I die-cut Simon Says Big XOXO die 4 times from Distress Watercolor card and coloured with Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide inks using mini round blending tools to create an ombre effect and layered to create dimension.
I stamped the Snarky Cats images on Distress Watercolor card, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival, die-cut using the matching dies and coloured with Brushed Corduroy Distress ink using a mini round blending tool.
I fixed the XO to the panel using Distress Collage Medium, added the snarky cats, popped up on foam adhesive and added splatters of Brushed Corduroy Distress ink.
I coloured the eyes with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink using a Distress Detailer Brush and added Glossy Accents to the noses.
To finish, I matted the panels on to A2 white card blanks, covered with Distress Kraft HeavyStock.

Love Your Kind Heart

Hi my friends, I'm sharing a card which could be for Valentine's Day or just to send to a friend using the So Much Love stamp set and Polka Hearts Stencil from Simon Says To The Moon January release.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", smooshed Kitsch Flamingo and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide inks on to the craft mat on my glass media mat and spritzed with water. I laid the panel into the inks, dried and tapped back in to pick up the remaining droplets of ink. I placed the Polka Hearts Stencil over the panel, pounced White Gesso through the polka dots using a Mini Round Blending Tool and dried.
I cleaned the stencil and moved it so that the hearts were over the polka dots and applied Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink using a Distress Blending Brush.
With the stencil still in place, I inked the sentiment from Simon Says Warmest Wishes stamp set with Intense Black ink and stamped through the stencil on to the pink hearts.
I inked the sentiments from Simon Says So Much Love with Intense Black ink and stamped in the centre of the panel.
I added sequins from Lucy's Little Things Crystal Collection and matted the panel on to an A2 card blank.

Have fun with whatever you are making
