Simon Says - Whatever The Weather

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
WHATEVER THE WEATHER
The theme this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is Whatever The Weather. I was inspired by the saying "April Showers bring May Flowers" and created a card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Flower Field, The Gent, Funky Floral 1 Thinlits and Simon Says Stamp Duck Trio Wafer Dies. I added detail to the umbrella using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Perfect Plaids and used Note Quotes for the sentiment.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and coloured using a Custom Blend Distress Ink Pad with re-inkers listed below.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Flower Field Thinlits, the umbrella from The Gent Thinlits and Simon Says Stamp Duck Trio from Distress Watercolor card.
I smooshed Scattered Straw and Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink pads on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and dragged the Flower Field die-cut through the inks, dried and tapped back in repeatedly until I was happy with the coverage.
I coloured the base of the umbrella with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink, the upper sections of the umbrella and the beak and feet sections of the ducks with Scattered Straw Distress Oxide and shaded with Wild Honey Distress Oxide using Simon Says Round Detail Blending Brushes.
I fixed the Flower Field die-cut in place with Distress Collage Medium and shaded around the edge of the panel with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink using a Tiny Blending Tool. I inked one of the backgrounds from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Perfect Plaids with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink, stamped on the umbrella, assembled and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut the flowers and leaf stems from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Flower 1 Thinlits and coloured with the same colour palette of Distress Oxide inks.
I inked a scrap of Distress Watercolor card with Scattered Straw and Wild Honey Distress Oxide inks, stamped the circle and sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Note Quotes, inked with Vintage Photo Distress Archival ink and fussy cut.
I fixed the ducks and foliage in place with Distress Collage Medium, added the sentiment circle and flowers popped up on Simon Says Thin Foam Squares to create dimension and added a Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Clippings Sticker.
To finish I added splatters of Dina Wakley White Gloss Spray and fixed the panel to an A2 white card blank.

created a Spring themed card using the beautiful Big Botanicals 6" x 8" stamp set with two of my favourite Distress colours, Bundled Sage and Dusty Concord.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", smooshed Bundled Sage and Dusty Concord Distress Oxide ink pads on to the craft mat on my White Glass Media Mat and spritzed with water. I dragged the panel through the inks, dried and tapped back in to pick up the remaining ink droplets repeatedly until I was happy with the background.
I stamped the large tulip image, moths and small icon images from the Big Botanicals 6" x 8" stamp set, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne and Dusty Concord Distress Oxide inks. I coloured the tulip image using Dusty Concord, Villainous Potion and Bundled Sage Distress Oxide inks and a Distress Detailer Water Brush.
I stamped the sentiment banner from the stamp set on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, coloured the centre with Dusty Concord Distress Oxide ink using the Distress Detailer Waterbrush, stamped the sentiment and fussy cut to leave a small white border around the edge. I fixed in place popped up on Simon Says Foam Squares and added the second sentiment using Simon Says Bold Birthday Acetate Sentiment Strips.
I re-stamped the tulip image, coloured as before, fussy cut and fixed in place with Simon Says Thin Foam Squares to create dimension.
I dragged the Versafine Clair Nocturne ink pad along the edges of the panel and fixed to an A2 white card blank. To finish I added Simon Says Pawsitively Black Dazzling Gems.

Hello Spring

Hello my friends, Simon Says Stamp have a brand new release today - You Are My Favorite is jammed packed with lots of fabulous new products and you can check them all out HERE.

Inspired by the beautiful Spring weather we've been having recently in my neck of the woods, I created a card using the adorable Duck Trio dies, the Squovals dies to make a frame and one of the stencils from the Mosaic Petals Stencil set to add interest on the background.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", inked around the edges with Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool, spritzed with water and dried.
I die-cut a frame from Distress Watercolor and a inset panel from Paper Rose Bees and Butterflies patterned paper included in the April 2025 Card Kit using the Squovals set of dies.
I die-cut the Duck Trio from Distress Watercolor card, coloured the feet and beaks with Wild Honey and Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide inks using Simon Says Detail Round Blending Brushes and assembled.
I fixed the frame to the panel using Distress Collage Medium, added the Duck Trio popped up on Simon Says Thin Foam Squares to add dimension and fixed the eyes in place die-cut from Simon Says Black cardstock. I fussy cut flowers and butterflies from the same patterned paper and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut Simon Says Hello die from Distress Watercolor card 4 times, layered to create dimension, inked the edges with Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink and fixed in place.
I applied Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink through the flower centres stencil from the Mosaic Petals set of stencils using a Tiny Blending Tool to add a little more interest on the background.
I added Simon Says Pastel Pawsitively Dazzling Gems.
I stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Spring Shadows on to a strip of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink, added Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink around the edges and fixed in place with Simon Says Thin Foam Squares. To finish I matted the panel on to a top folding A2 white card blank.

Simon Says - Blooming Blooms

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
BLOOMING BLOOMS
I created a page in my Dina Wakley Ledger Journal using images from Simon Says Beautiful and Curious 6" x 8" stamp set and Distress Crayons from the May 2025 Card Kit, along with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mosaic and Bubbles Mini Layering Stencils from Sets 28 and 46 to add interest to the background.
I stamped the floral image from Simon Says Beautiful and Curious 6" x 8" stamp set, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival ink on to an A2 panel and scrap of Distress Watercolor card, sprinkled with Ranger Black Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.
I applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium to both pieces.
I fixed strips of Masking Paper to the edges of the A2 panel, scribbled Stormy Sky and Peeled Paint Distress Crayons over the panel and blended with a damp finger until I was happy with the background. I used a Distress Detailer Waterbrush to remove the colour from the floral image.
I removed the masking paper, laid the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mosaic Mini Layering Stencil from Set 28 in place and used a piece of damp kitchen towel to remove the colour through the stencil. I repeated the process with the Bubbles Mini Layering Stencil from Set 46.
I stamped the ephemera, splatters and butterfly images from the stamp set inked with Black Soot and Peeled Paint Distress Archival inks.
I applied a light coat of White Gesso on the page of my Dina Wakley Media Ledger Journal followed by a coat of Distress Collage Medium. I scribbled the Stormy Sky and Peeled Paint Distress Crayons around the edges of the page, blended out with a damp finger, added drops of water and blotted with kitchen towel.
I scribbled Stormy Sky and Peeled Paint Distress Crayons on to my Glass Media Mat, used the Distress Detailer Waterbrush to colour the flowers on the scrap of Distress Watercolor and fussy cut.
I inked the sentiment from the Beautiful and Curious stamp set with Black Soot Distress Archival ink, stamped on to a scrap of Simon Says Ice Vellum, sprinked with Ranger Black Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I trimmed around the sentiment and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I fixed the panel to the page in the Media Ledger Journal and stamped the splatters randomly around the edge, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival ink. To finish I added the fussy cut flowers popped up on Simon Says Thin Foam Squares.
