Simon Says - Add Texture

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

the theme for this week is...
ADD TEXTURE
I created a Winter Wishes card using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mr Frostie with the Simon Says Stamp co-ordinating dies, Distress Grit Paste with the Latticework Mini Layering Stencil from Set 4 to add texture and Trinity Stamps Candy Apple Heart Sprinkles.
I applied Distress Grit Paste Opaque through the Latticework Mini Layering Stencil randomly on to a 4" x 5.1/4" panel of Distress Watercolor card.
Once the paste was dry, I spritzed the panel with Antique Linen and Old Paper Distress Spray Stains and dapped the colour off the paste with a damp cloth to create a neutral background.
I applied Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide ink through the Dots Mini Layering Stencil from Set 59.
I stamped the snowman image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mr Frostie on to Distress Watercolor card, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I die-cut the snowman using the co-ordinating dies from Simon Says Stamp to create a template and lined up with the stamped image.
I replaced the die-cut back into the negative space and because I had left the stamp in the same place on the lid of my stamping platform, I reinked and stamped on to the die-cut.
I repeated this process with the tree branch, inked with Scorched Timber Distress Ink, pulled the colour into the trunk using a Distress Detailer Brush and dried. I stamped the image again, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.
I trimmed the branch and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium. I stamped the snowman image again and die-cut the hat and scarf.
I coloured the die-cuts using Distress Watercolor Pencils and a Detailer Brush - Old Paper to shade the snowman, Ripe Persimmon for the nose, Scorched Timber for his arms and Black Soot and Lumberjack Plaid for the hat and scarf and fixed in place with Simon Says Thin 3D Foam Squares.
I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor card with Antique Linen Distress Spray Stain, stamped the sentiment from Mr Frostie, inked with Lumberjack Plaid and trimmed using my trusty Tim Holtz Mini Recoil Snips.
I fixed the sentiment to Mr Frostie, popped up with Thin 3D foam squares, added stamped and die-cut snowflakes from the Mr Frostie stamp set using the same technique as for the snowman and tree branch and added Trinity Stamps Candy Apple Heart Sprinkles.
To finish I inked around the edge of the panel with Scorched Timber Distress Ink using a Tiny Blending Tool, matted on to Simon Says Lipstick Red cardstock, trimmed 1.8" larger and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

Simon Says - Circle Sentiments

Happy Friday my friends, after clearing the driveway yesterday for a trip to the shops, more heavy snow has fallen in my little corner of the planet. I'm back to square one  and it looks like I'm going to be marooned in the cubbyhole for some time.

If you follow my blog, you'll know I have a thing for alphabet stamps and dies so I couldn't resist making two simple cards using the Circle Sentiments 6" x 8" stamp set from Simon Says Stamp To Love December release.
For the first card I inked the circle letters with a combination of Wild Honey, Ripe Persimmon, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks and stamped directly on to the front of an A2 white card blank. I stamped the sentiment and solid heart, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
I re-stamped the heart on to a scrap of white card, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, fussy cut and popped up on Simon Says Thin 3d Foam Squares. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy, the perfect card to mass produce and suitable for many occasions.

For the second card, I smooshed Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink on to a piece of acetate, spritzed with water and pressed repeatedly on to the front of an A2 white card blank.
I stamped the sentiment from Circle Sentiments, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, repeatedly on the background.
I inked the letter and heart images with a mix of Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks, spritzed with water and stamped on to Distress Watercolor card.
I fussy cut around the letters, fixed to the front of the card, popped up with Simon Says Thin 3D foam squares.
I decided to trim the front of the cards to create 4" x 5.1/4" panels, matted them on to Simon Says Stamp black card, trimmed 1/8" larger and fixed to A2 white card blanks. To finish I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the black heart and Picked Raspberry stamped hearts.

Have fun with whatever you are making.

Simon Says - Winter Is Here

Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card made using the Get Yeti 6" x 8 stamp set, Photoplay Yeti For Winter patterned papers and Action Wobbler from Simon Says Stamp Get Yeti January 2025 Card Kit. You can check out the contents of the kit, subscribe if you don't already do so and purchase individual items from the kit if you wish HERE.

I trimmed one of the Photoplay Yeti For Winter patterned papers included in the kit to 4" x 5.1/4", added two hand cut snowbanks and fixed to an A2 top folding card, scored and folded from the Neenah Solar White card also included in the kit.
I stamped the trees from the Simon Says Get Yeti 6" x 8" stamp set, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink on to scraps of the Photoplay Yeti For Winter paper and fussy cut.
I scribbled along the edges of the stamped trees with a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen, sprinkled with Simon Says White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set. I coloured the tree trunks with a brown Zig Clean Color Brush Marker and fixed in place with Simon Says Thin 3D Foam Pads. I stamped the sentiment from the Get Yeti stamp set inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.
I stamped the sledding yeti image from the stamp set, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink, on to a scrap of Strathmore Bristol Smooth card, coloured with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and fussy cut.
I fussy the pennant from one of the Photoplay patterned papers, fixed in place with Thin 3D foam squares and added the Yeti popped up with the action wobbler included in the kit.

Have fun with whatever you are creating.

Simon Says - Get Yeti January 2025 Card Kit

Hello my friends, Winter has well and truly arrived in my neck of the woods

the perfect excuse to retreat to my cosy cubbyhole and finish off the cards I started making in the week between Christmas and New Year using the Simon Says - Get Yeti January Card Kit. You can check out the contents of the kit or if you wish, purchase individual items from the kit HERE.

I created a card using the Get Yeti 6" x 8" stamp set and Photoplay Yeti For Winter patterned papers included in the kit.
I trimmed one of the patterned papers to 4" x 5.1/4" to use as a background. I stamped the mountain image from the Get Yeti stamp set, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, on to a contrasting patterned paper and the Neenah Solar White cardstock included in the kit. I fussy cut the mountains, added the snowy peaks popped up on Simon Says Thin Foam Squares and fixed to a hand-cut snowbank.
I fixed the mountains and snowbank in place with Distress Collage Medium and added shading using a grey Zig Clean Color Brush Marker. I inked one of the snowflakes from the stamp set with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink, sprinkled with Simon Says Detail Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat set. I fussy cut the sentiment from another of the patterned papers and fixed to the background popped up on Thin Foam Squares.
I stamped the trees, snowman and mittens from the Get Yeti stamp set on to Strathmore Bristol Smooth card and coloured with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers.
I fussy cut with my trusty Tim Holtz/Tonic Studios Mini Recoil Snips and added to the background using Thin Foam Squares. I sprinkled Stampendous Chunky White Embossing Enamel on to background and heated from underneath until melted. To finish I scored and folded the Neenah Solar White card included in the kit to create an A2 top folding card and fixed the panel in place with Distress Collage Medium.

With heavy snowfall overnight and more forecast for the next few days, it looks like I'm going to be marooned in the cubbyhole having more fun with the January Card Kit and some new releases coming soon from Simon Says Stamp. In the meantime, stay safe and cosy if the weather is wintry where you are.
