Simon Says - Fur or Feathers

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
FUR OR FEATHERS
I was so inspired by all the wonderful makes on the YouTube Live launch of Tim Holtz new Colorblock fabric and while I wait impatiently for mine to arrive, I made a card with a nod to the resident feathered friends in my garden and used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Lovebirds Thinlits with Tim Holtz Eclectic Elements fabric from my stash, Idea-ology Specimen Remnant Rubs and lots of machine stitching to create texture and dimension.
I fixed Heat and Bond to Tim Holtz Correspondence Eclectic Elements fabric, die-cut the bird, feather and hearts using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Lovebirds Thinlits and also trimmed a section of the selvedge edge.
I die-cut the same pieces from Distress Watercolor card, attached to the fabric die-cuts with Distress Collage Medium and applied Scorched Timber Distress Ink around the edges using a Distress Tiny Blending Tool. I machine stitched the feathers, hearts and selvedge strip to a panel from my background box and again applied Scorched Timber Distress Ink around the edges.
I added the die-cut bird popped up on foam squares, trimmed out small sections from the fabric, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and added an Idea-ology Tiny Clip.
I added Idea-ology Specimen Remnant Rubs
To finish I matted the panel on to Distress Black HeavyStock, trimmed 1/8" larger and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

Thinking Of You

Happy Friday my friends, we are heading for the last week of February already and the weather has turned very springlike in my neck of the woods. I'm sharing another card made with the Mix and Match Butterflies and Single Mix and Match Butterflies die from Simon Says March Card Kit. You can check out the contents of this fabulous, great value for money kit or purchase individual items from the kit HERE

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 3.3/4" x 5" and coloured by smooshing Peacock Feathers, Uncharted Mariner and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, tapped the panel into the inks repeatedly and dried between layers.
I inked the butterfly from Simon Says Mix and Match Butterflies with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink and stamped randomly over the background. I used the matching die from the Single Mix and Match Butterflies to cut an aperture.
I fixed the panel to white card, inked through the aperture and just over the edges to create shading on the background, with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink using a domed foam blending tool. I flicked on water and dried.
I stamped the butterfly on to vellum, inked with Simon Says White Pigment Ink, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder and heat set.
I fussy cut around the butterfly and fixed over the aperture, applying glue only to the centres of the wings. I stamped, heat embossed the butterfly body in the same way, die-cut with the matching die from the Single Mix and Match Butterflies die set, fixed in place and coloured using Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink applied with a Detailer Water Brush.

To finish I stamped the sentiment on to a strip of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder, heat set and fixed to the bottom of the panel. I also stamped a flower from the stamp set, fussy cut, coloured in the same way as the butterfly body and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I added Pawsitively Cool Tones Dazzling Gems and matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank.

Have a great weekend whatever you have planned.

Just Saying Hi

Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card using the Dibble Tile Embossing Folder and Single Mix and Match Butterflies die set from Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit - Mix and Match Butterflies, indulging my obsession with Scorched Timber, the newest colour to join the Distress Family. You can check out the contents of this fabulous, great value for money kit or purchase individual items from the kit HERE

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", coloured with Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks, spritzed the back of the panel with water, placed in the Dibble Tile Embossing Folder and ran through my die-cutting machine. I lightly dragged the Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink pad over the panel to accentuate the embossed detail.
I die-cut the butterfly wings and body from Distress Watercolor using the Single Mix and Match Butterflies die set, coloured the wings lightly and the body heavily with Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink using a Distress Tiny Blending Tool and flicked on water to create splatters. I inked one of the small flower images from the Mix and Match Butterflies stamp set with Scorched Timber Distress Ink and stamped randomly over the butterfly wings. I fixed the butterfly wings and body in place with Simon Says Precision Crafty Tacky Glue.
I stamped the sentiment, inked with Scorched Timber Distress Ink, on to a torn strip of Vellum, sprinkled with Simon Says Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I folded the vellum around the panel and fixed with adhesive tape. I stamped the flower images on to scraps of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival, coloured with Spun Sugar and Scorched Timber Distress Watercolor Pencils, die-cut with the matching dies and fixed to the vellum with Precision Craft Tacky Glue. To finish I added Simon Says Cool Tones Pawsitively Dazzling Gems and matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank.

Simon Says - Not A Card

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
NOT A CARD
Spring is on the way, I'm thinking ahead to Easter and making a start on table decorations using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Bunny + Chick Thinlits, Idea-ology Barrels and Tiny Eggs.

I fixed Tim Holtz/Sizzix Adhesive Sheets to scraps of Sizzix Surfacez Cardstock, Distress Watercolor card and Distress Black HeavyStock, die-cut the chicks using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Bunny + Chick Thinlits, shaded the edges with Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink using a Distress Tiny Blending Tool and assembled.
I gathered supplies from my stash - Large Wood Slices, Moss, Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Barrels and Tiny Eggs which I coloured by rolling around in my Speckled Egg Distress Paint covered fingers and once dry, splattered with Scorched Timber Distress Paint.
I fixed 2 wood slices together to add height, attached the Idea-ology Barrel with my glue gun, filled the barrel with Moss, added the Tiny Eggs and began to place the chicks. I twisted the shredded paper left over from a pack of gift wrapping, fixed around the back and sides of the barrel with hot glue to create the effect of tufts of grass.
I fixed moss randomly around the base and sides of the wood slices.
I die-cut the daisies using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Bunny + Chick Thinlits, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and added more Tiny Eggs.
One down, a few more to go.

Thanks So Very Much

Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card using the Mix and Match Butterflies stamp set, Dibble Tile Embossing Folder and Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Transparent Things from Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit - Mix and Match Butterflies. You can check out the contents of this fabulous, great value for money kit or purchase individual items from the kit HERE

I  trimmed Simon Says Ivory cardstock included in the kit to create 2 panels - 4.1/4" x 5.1/2" and 3.1/4" x 4.1/2", placed the smaller panel in Simon Says Dibble Tile Embossing Folder and ran through my die-cutting machine. I inked lightly around the edge of the panel with Villainous Potion using a Distress Tiny Blending Tool.
I trimmed the floral transparency from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Transparent Things and fixed to the panel with small dots of Distress Collage Medium.
I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Mix and Match Butterflies on to the transparency, inked with StazOn Jet Black ink, cleaned the stamp immediately with StazOn cleaner, spritzed with water and dried with a cloth.
I stamped the butterfly wings and body on to a scrap of Ivory card, inked with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink, sprinkled with Simon Says Clear Embossing and heat set. I coloured the images with Villainous Potion and Peeled Paint Distress Watercolour Pencils using a Detailer Water Brush.
I decided to change the colour of the panel and inked around the edges of the Ivory card with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink using a Distress Tiny Blending Tool, spritzed with water and dried. I fussy cut around the butterfly, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and foam squares to add lift to the wings and used the die from the Single Mix and Match Butterflies set of dies to cut the body. I fixed the body in place with a thin foam strip to add dimension.
I stamped the heart from the stamp set on to a scrap of Ivory cardstock, inked with Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink, sprinkled with Simon Says Clear Embossing Powder, heat set and die-cut using the Single Mix and Match Butterflies die. I added extra pieces of Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Transparent Things and fixed the hearts in place with foam squares.
To finish I matted the panel on to an A2 Ivory cardstock card blank. Have a great weekend whatever you have planned. I'm looking forward to another Saturday YouTube Live with Tim and Mario for the launch of Tim's Eclectic Elements COLORBLOCK Collection. I can't wait to see the fabrics and all the amazing samples from Tim's Makers. Set your reminder for 9am PT, 12pm ET and 5pm UK, organise your snacks and I'll see you at the party.
