Simon Says - Make a Bookmark/Be Inspired By Books

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
MAKE A BOOKMARK/BE INSPIRED BY BOOKS
I was inspired by my love of books and enjoy relaxing with a good historical novel, a murder mystery and a nice cup of tea. I decorated a Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Etcetera Tag using Idea-ology Worn Wallpaper, Halloween 2024 Collage Paper, Ephemera Memoir, Layers Engravings, Tiny Text Remnant Rubs and Small Talk Stickers.
I fixed a panel of Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Worn Wallpaper to a Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Mini Etcetera Tag with Distress Collage Medium and a Distress Collage Brush. Once dry I sanded the edges with a Mini Round Blending Tool and Distress Sanding Disk to remove the excess paper.
I added torn strips of the script paper from Tim Holtz/ Idea-ology Halloween 2024 Collage Paper.
I added a panel from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Ephemera Memoir and applied Distress Grit Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Cargo Mini Stencil from Set 29.
I selected pieces from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Layers Engravings pack , tapped on to a Versamark ink pad, sprinkled with Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder and heat set. This technique provides a key to apply colour to a slick surface.  I coloured using Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, Ground Espresso,  Hickory Smoke  and Tattered Rose Distress Crayons and a Detailer Brush.
I fixed the Layers Engravings in place with Distress Collage Medium and 3D foam squares, added the small books from Idea-ology Ephemera Memoir and Idea-ology Tiny Text Remnant Rubs.
I added Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Small Talk and Metallic Stickers.
To finish I added splatters of Dina Wakley Black Gloss Spray flicked from the nozzle.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello my friends, wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Love Notes Sidekick Dies and Texture Fade and Simon Says Love Shadow Wafer Die for the sentiment.

I embossed the heart pattern on to an A2 panel of Distress Kraft HeavyStock, leaving the centre of the panel un-embossed, using the Texture Fade included with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Love Notes. I dragged the Picket Fence Distress Ink pad across the surface to highlight the raised detail.
I spritzed the ribbon with water, crumpled in my hand, dried, fixed across the panel and tied in a bow.
I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor card with Antique Linen Distress Oxide and die-cut 3 envelopes using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Sidekick Love Notes.
I folded the envelopes along the score lines, inked the edges with Scorched Timber Distress Ink using a Tiny Blending tool, assembled and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium. I die-cut the word LOVE 3 times using Simon Says Stamp Love Shadow wafer die and the hearts using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Sidekick Love Notes from Simon Says Stamp Lipstick Red cardstock and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut more hearts and fixed in place to look like they were flying out from the envelope.
I inked the postmarks and small typography from Simon Says Stamp Vintage Loves Notes stamp set with Scorched Timber Distress Ink and stamped randomly on the envelopes.
I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4", distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Paper Distresser, rather too agressively perhaps because some of the embossed hearts fell out from the top and bottom edges but I quite liked the effect and decided to leave it. To finish I added splatters of Scorched Timber Distress Ink, matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank and added Ranger Glossy Accents to the hearts and sentiment.

Happy Crafting

Simon Says - Spritz and Splatter

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
SPRITZ AND SPLATTER
I created a gift box, card and tag inspired by Simon Says Create Together - Sending Love YouTube Class. I used tim Holtz/Ranger Picked Raspberry Distress Spray Stain and Distress Spritz to create spritz and splatter backgrounds, die-cut and decorated with Simon Says Sweethearts Box, Postage Stamp Edge Frames and Love Letter stamp set and dies.
You can watch the Create Together - Sending Love Virtual Class on Simon Says YouTube Channel HERE. The limited edition kit for the class has sold out but the products included in the kit can be purchased individually from the links below.

I die-cut the gift box from Neenah White 80lb card using Simon Says Sweethearts Box die.
I inked the heart images from Simon Says Love Letter stamp set with Picked Raspberry and Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and stamped randomly over the box.
I flicked splatters of Picked Raspberry Distress Spritz from the nozzle on to the background and dried.
I stamped Hugs and the envelope image from the Love Letter stamp set, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink on to a scrap of Neenah White 80lb card coloured with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink. I stamped the postage strip inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and the large heart with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink and die-cut using the Love Letter dies. I folded the box along the score lines, assembled, added the conversation hearts and closed using a die-cut heart. To finish I added XO's on each side of the box, die-cut from Simon Says Black cardstock using the Sweethearts Box die

I coloured a sheet of Distress Watercolor card with Picked Raspberry Spray Stain and Distress Spritz and die-cut using Simon Says Postage Stamp Edge Frame dies.
I matted the Postage Stamp Edge Frame panel on to an A2 white card blank covered with black cardstock, added the images from Simon Says Love Letter die-cut using the matching Love Letter dies and splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint.
I popped the die-cuts hearts up with Simon Says 3D foam Squares to create dimension and added Ranger Glossy Accents.
I fixed Black and White Twine around the spine of the card and finished off with a bow.

I stamped the postage strip, heart and stamp inked with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink on to the Postage Stamp Edge Frame die-cut and the heart and cancellation mark inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. I stamped the envelop and sentiment inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and the heart inked with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide and coloured parts of the envelope using a Simon Says Round Detail Blending Brush.
I die-cut the envelope, fixed to the panel and added splatters of Picked Raspberry Distress Spritz and Black Soot Distress Paint.
I added XO's die cut from black cardstock using the Sweethearts Box die, matted the panel on to black cardstock and trimmed to leave a small border. I punched a hole in the top of the tag and threaded with black and white twine.

Simon Says - Bright and Cheerful

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

The first challenge of the month is when the Design Team showcase one particular brand/company and this time we are all using the fabulous products from our very own Simon Says Stamp. You don't have to use Simon Says products to join in the challenge but we would love to see what you make if you have them in your stash.
We are also welcoming the lovely and very talented Cassie Lynch back as our Designer In The Spotlight, if you don't already follow her on social media, you can check out her Instagram Page HERE, you certainly won't be disappointed.
The theme for this week is...
BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL
I used Distress Oxide inks to create a bright and cheerful background on Distress Watercolor card, embossed with Simon Says Pinnacle Hearts Embossing Folder and decorated with Tim Holtz/Ideaology Palette Ephemera and the butterfly and sentiment from Simon Says Distressed Vintage Love Notes 6" x 8" stamp set.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", coloured using Distress Oxide inks and Mini Round Blending Tools, added flicks of water and dried.
I inked the music stamp from Simon Says Distressed Vintage Love Notes stamp set with the same colours and stamped to create a subtle tone on tone effect.
I ran the panel through my die-cutting machine with Simon Says Pinnacle Hearts Embossing Folder and sanded the detail to expose the white core of the card using a Mini Round Blending tool and Tim Holtz Distress Sanding Disk.
I inked the edges of tim Holtz/Idea-ology Palette Ephemera with Scorched Timber Distress Ink using a Tiny Blending Tool and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium.
I inked the butterfly image from the stamp set with Scorched Timber Distress Ink, stamped on to Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Plain Collage paper, sprinkled with Simon Says Clear Embossing ink and heat set. Plain Collage paper is a discontinued product and if you don't have it in your stash, Dina Wakley Media Collage Tissue would work too (linked below)
I painted around the butterfly images with a wet paintbrush, teased out with my finger and fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium and a Collage Brush.
I stamped the postmark images from the stamp set inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor card with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide, stamped the sentiment from the stamp set, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Tiles Circle Thinlits. I sanded the edges of the ephemera panels and around the edge of the circle, fixed a white hemp twine bow and fixed to the panel using Simon Says Black Small 3D foam squares.
To finish I fixed the panel to an A2 white card blank.
