Simon Says - Big and Bold

Hi my friends, I'm sneaking in a quick Saturday blog post to share one more card from my Simon Says Dream Big release and August Card Kit adventure using Big and Bold and Vintage Garden stamp sets along with the Dimensional Cubes Layering Stencil.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and applied a fairly heavy application of Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. I smooshed the ink pad on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, laid the Dimensional Cubes Layering Stencil on to the ink and pressed on to the panel to create a monoprint effect on the background. I dried the panel thoroughly, inked the Big and Bold Sentiment with Simon Says Embossing Ink, sprinkled with Simon Says White Embossing Powder and heat set. I repeated this process with one of the floral images from Simon Says Vintage Garden to create a frame around the edges. I applied Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink around the edges and over the sentiment to create a shadow and wiped the excess ink off the embossing with a cloth.
To finish I stamped the butterfly from Vintage Garden inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink, added Lucy's Little Things Silver Pearl Mix and matted the panel on to an A2 card blank.

I'm planning a weekend in the garden, have fun whatever you are doing and I'll see you all on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Monday Challenge.

Simon Says - August Card Kit

Happy Friday my friends, another week almost over and before we know, we'll be heading into August. I'm sharing 2 more cards using items from Simon Says August Card Kit, the sentiments from the Vintage Garden stamp set and the Craft Consortium Wildflower Meadows patterned papers which I used to paper piece with Simon Says Outline Clustered Leaves and Ring Frame dies. The kit is still available to purchase and you can, if you wish, also purchase individual items from the kit HERE.

I trimmed the Simon Says Smoke Notecards that came in the kit to create 4" x 5.1/4" panels. I die-cut Simon Says Ring Frame from Distress Watercolor card and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium. I die-cut the Ring Frame again from contrasting Wildflower Meadows patterned papers and puzzle pieced into the circles.
I stamped the sentiments from Simon Says Vintage Garden inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink.
I added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint, fixed the panel to Simon Says Black Cardstock trimmed to be 1/8" larger and matted on to an A2 card blank.

I repeated the above process using Simon Says Outline Clustered Leaves die

I added splatters of White Gesso, sprinkled with Simon Says White Embossing Powder and heat set. As before I fixed the panel to Simon Says Black Cardstock and matted on to an A2 white card blank.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you have planned and have fun with whatever you are making.

Simon Says - Vintage Garden

Hi my friends, I'm back share two cards made using the Vintage Garden stamp set from Simon Says August Card Kit along with 3 of my favourite Tim Holtz Distress Oxide colours, Uncharted Mariner, Salvaged Patina and Fossilized Amber. I do love a good scripty sentiment and beautifully detailed floral images stamped in black on an inky background. The August Card Kit, at the time of writing, is still available to purchase and if you wish, you can also buy the individual items from the kit HERE.

I smooshed Uncharted Mariner, Salvaged Patina and Fossilized Amber on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water, laid an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card on to the inks and dried. I tapped the panel back into the inks repeatedly to pick up the remaining droplets, drying between layers.
I stamped the floral image 3 times and the butterfly and sentiment from Simon Says Vintage Garden, inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink,
I add white dots to the butterfly wings and flower centres using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen, trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4" and matted on to an A2 white card blank.

I coloured an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card using the same 3 Distress Oxide inks using mini round blending tools to create a blended background, spritzed with water and dried.
I stamped the images and sentiments from Simon Say Vintage Garden, inked with Simon Says Intenser Black ink.
I added splatters of White Gesso, sprinkled with Simon Says White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set.
I re-stamped the butterfly on to a scrap of a previously coloured background, fussy cut and fixed to the panel, applying adhesive only to the centre of the butterfly.

To finish I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5,1/4" and matted on to an A2 white card blank.
I'm on a roll and will be back soon to share more projects made with Dream Big release and August Card Kit. Have fun with whatever you are making.

Simon Says Stamp - Dream Big

Happy Wednesday my friends, apologies for being absent from my blog and social media but it's been all go here, I've been busy busy playing with some new glorious red rubber, giving the unruly shrubs in the garden a drastic trim back and come evening, putting my feet up with a glass of wine and "THE BOOK" which, in true Tom Bower style, is very well written and has been meticulously researched. I won't spoilt it if you are waiting for your copy but I found this "set the record straight, pulling no punches to reveal the truth" account, shocking, upsetting and a bit of a difficult read. But back to happy thoughts and the goodies from Simon Says Stamp Dream Big release sitting on my workdesk. You can check out all the fabulous new products in the release HERE.

I'm sharing a trio of cards I made with the Dimensional Cubes set of 3 Layering Stencils, Big and Bold sentiment stamp set from the Dream Big release and the You Shine stamp set from the July Card Kit and the matching dies.

I began by applying Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide inks through one of the Dimensional Cubes Layering Stencils on to an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card using Simon Says Small Blending Brushes. I held the card and stencil in place using the game changing Tim Holtz Media Grip - how did I ever live without this amazing product. I switched to the stencil with the small diamonds and applied a generous amount of Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink. I stamped the flower box image from You Shine and the Big and Bold sentiment inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink. I re-stamped the flower box on to Distress Watercolor card, cut with the matching die and fixed to the panel with the new Simon Says Foam Adhesive squares from the release.

On the second card I used the third stencil in the set, firstly applying Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink, turned the stencil 45 degrees, applied Carved Pumpkin, turned again and repeated this step. I then applied a heavy application of Carved Pumpkin through the stencil with the small diamonds. I stamped the Big and Bold Sentiment inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink. I stamped the flowers, leaves and butterfly from You Shine, inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink on to Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Distress Re-inkers (colours linked below) using a Distress Detailer Brush , cut with the matching die set and fixed to the panel with the foam adhesive squares.

On the third card, I spritzed the Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink that was left on the stencil from the previous card, pressed on to the Distress Watercolor panel and dried. I cleaned the stencil, lined up the diamonds with the white areas and applied Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink. I inked the sentiment from You Shine with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink and holding the stamp in my hands, stamped randomly over the background. I stamped the butterflies from You Shine and the Big and Bold sentiment inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink.
To finish, I added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint on all 3 panels, trimmed the panels to 4" x 5,1.4" and matted on to A2 Distress Kraft HeavyStock card blanks. Simon Says August Card Kit is in the house and I'll be back soon to share some makes with you. In the meantime, have fun with whatever you are making

Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
BACK TO SCHOOL
I created a card with a school theme using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Numbered 3D Texture Fade, Collector and Alphanumeric Theory Thinlits, Stampers Anonymous Focus Layering Stencil, Idea-ology Collector Layers, Baseboard Doll, Ephemera Memoir and Eccentric Remnant Rubs.

I sprayed Uncharted Mariner Distress Spray Stain and Distress Oxide Spray on to an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card, applied Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide ink through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Focus Layering Stencil, embossed using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Numbered 3D Texture Fade and sanded back to reveal the white core.
I added torn strips of Tim Holtz Idea-ology Typeset Collage Paper.
I trimmed and distressed Idea-ology Collector Layers and Ephemera Memoir and fixed to the panel.
I die-cut the rosette ribbon and stars using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Collector Thinlits and the word using Alphanumeric Theory Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card coloured with Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide ink. I die-cut the word 3 times more from Distress Watercolor card, layered to create dimension and sanded to reveal the white core.
I added Idea-ology Eccentric Remnant Rubs to decorate the die-cuts and ephemera.

To finish I matted the panel on to Idea-ology Black KraftStock and fixed to a white card blank.
