Distress Watercolor Pencils - Sets 4, 5 and 6

Hi my friends, another amazing YouTube Live from Tim and Mario launching the new Distress Watercolor Pencils and if you missed it, you can catch up with all the fabulous demos and hints and tips from our adorable Professor HERE. I'm so excited that the Tim Holtz/Ranger Ink Distress Watercolor Pencil palette is now complete and we have 72 colours and Picket Fence in one of my favourite Distress Mediums. First task when they arrived in the cubbyhole was to make swatches and create another shavings palette for Sets 4, 5 and 6.

Then it was playtime and I created 3 cards using only colours from each new set to colour images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Floral Outlines and the Valentine stamp release, Love Notes.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and stamped the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Floral Outlines, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival, sprinkled with Ranger Superfine Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.
I scribbled the crayon on to the images and activated the pigment with a Detailer Water Brush to create shading and highlights. I dried the images and added more shading by picking up the colour from the point of the pencil with the Detailer Water Brush. I coloured all the images in the same way, in a loose style, pulling some of the colour out into the background and adding splatters by flicking the Detailer Water Brush against the point of the pencil. I'm not an expert at watercolouring but these amazing pencils make it easy to achieve a result you will be happy with and make you feel as if you know what you are doing. I have listed the colours used in the individual photos of each card.
I stamped the hearts and sentiments from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Love Notes with Black Soot Distress Archival and coloured some of the hearts with the matching Distress Watercolor Pencil used on the flowers.
Set 4 - Flowers/Hearts - Saltwater Taffy, Flower Centres - Ground Espresso, Leaves -Scattered Straw and Shabby Shutters
Set 5 - Flowers - Spun Sugar/Abandoned Coral/Dusty Concord, Flower Centres - Brushed Corduroy, Leaves -Bundled Sage/Forest Moss
Set 6 - Flowers - Worn Lipstick/Aged Mahogany and Squeezed Lemonade/Ripe Persimmon, Leaves Lucky Clover/Pine Needles
To finish I matted the panels on to Distress Black HeavyStock and fixed to A2 white card blanks.
Have fun with whatever you are creating.
Hugs Kath xxx
