Simon Says - Fun With Stencils

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

The first challenge of the month is when the design team showcase products from one particular brand/company and this month we are using the fabulous products from Stamperia. You don't have to use them to enter the challenge but if you have them in your stash, we would love to see how you use them.  We are also welcoming the lovely and talented Cassie Lynch aka m k knits as our Designer In The Spotlight and you can check out all her amazing makes on her Instagram Account.
The theme for this week is...
FUN WITH STENCILS
Because the days are still dark and gloomy and I can't wait for Spring to arrive, I created a page in my Stamperia Stone Paper Mixed Media Journal using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dotted Line and Cargo Layering Stencils, Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Wildflowers with Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Spray, Distress Texture Paste Crackle, Broken China Distress Paint and Distress Watercolor Pencils to colour the crackle and the die cuts.

I spritzed Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Spray over the journal pages, added flicks of water and dried. I applied Distress Texture Paste Crackle through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Dotted Line Layering Stencil and set aside to dry.
I applied Broken China Distress Paint through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Cargo Layering Stencil using the Distress Tiny Blending Tool, the perfect tool for the job, to create a little blue sky popping through the gloomy background.
I added Stamperia White Text Rub-Ons that I found in my stash
Once the paste had dried and crackled I coloured the large circles with Squeezed Lemonade and Brushed Corduroy Distress Watercolor Pencils using a Detailer Water Brush.
I sharpened the Scorched Timber Distress Watercolor Pencil to a fine point and added shading on the left side of each circle.
I die-cut my favourite flower 9 times from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Wildflowers Thinlits and coloured with Distress Watercolor Pencils by scribbling the pencils on to the die-cuts and blending the colours with the Detailer Water Brush. I used Broken China and Pine Needles to shade around the centre and to colour the stem and leaves and Squeezed Lemonade/Brushed Corduroy and Scorched Timber for the centres. I added splatters of Scorched Timber on the flower heads by flicking the Detailer Water Brush off the point of the pencil.
I stacked the die-cuts to create 3 dimensional flowers, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium and added a bow using Spellbinders White Hemp cord.
To finish I added splatters of Dina Wakley White Gloss Spray and added Idea-ology Clippings Stickers.
