the minute I saw it announced on Tim's blog...the old "I gotta get my bum on one of those seats" feeling completely took over my every waking thought so in preparation I checked the little logistical details of available flights and a bed for the night...hey when you live many miles from so called civilisation...how you're going to get there is mega important. Now contrary to opinion...I'm not daft...I knew there would be zillions of other folks with the same idea...that the crafty schedule...DIY and household chores were going to go by the wayside...you've heard the expression "everything stops for tennis" well that may be so normally but on this occasion Mr H is much higher up that little list of priorities so with coffee-a-plenty...the phone and my best redial finger at the ready we settled in for the long haul...I was going nowhere until my goal was achieved despite the protests of His Furriness wandering cross legged around the house desperate for his "toilet stop" morning stroll...had to give way on that one for obvious reasons but we didn't hang about...as soon as the deed was done we were running back home for more of the Chinese "engaged-engaged-engaged" torture but there's no gain without pain and good things come to those who wait...many many many minutes later (aka lunchtime) woohoo the goal hits the back of the net and I'm one very very jubilant crafter albeit a little brain dead and slightly exhausted and woohoo...here's what we're making...
But then it was back to reality...with a pile of step-by-step instructions to e-mail to Fiskars before 3pm...lunch was a quick pot of yoghurt on the run...fortified by a couple of hours of mucho cafe con leche...the keyboard was red hot and smoking...believe me those much practiced redial fingers had to go like the clappers to achieve that particular goal.Everything may well grind to a halt for the Lord of All Things Holtziness and despite the "I'm going to Coventry" high...this month's tag has been put on the back burner...it's going to have to wait until the Hobbycraft Demo samples are in the bag...the loo's been cleaned and another door bites the dust in the "paint-a-door-a day" marathon...
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

Hmmmm sent to Coventry takes on a whole new meaning now Kath!! Susan x
ReplyDeleteDon't forget about the detour to the Brecon Beacons on the way - a little Viking PEP is stowing away in your luggage. Seriously: have great fun & I don't think I'm being relieved of husband sitting duties & a 6ft 4 inch half Scotch Anglo Saxon I don't think will fit in the baggage.
ReplyDeletePaula (PEP)
Good for you Kath - if life has taught anything, it's "When you can - Go for it!" X
ReplyDeleteHi Kath, I'm so pleased for you, if anybody deserves to go it's you. Your door looks perfect, a job well done. The house must have a lovely new smell with all the hard work you have done...Trish
