Emboss It...

Hi Everyone...woohoo it's Monday and that means it's time to join in the fun over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's Home Decor challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
EMBOSS IT
using embossing folders...heat embossing...embossing pastes or
any other embossing techniques you care to share with us
I made a card using a Texture Fade Embossing Folder...Distress Crayons...now there's a surprise...a little bit of stamping and heat embossing with a mixture of Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamels...the Wildflower Thinlits Dies...some vellum and my favourite crinkled ribbon coloured with Distress Spray Stain...
I used one of my favourite Texture Fades...Postale on white cardstock...I love the crisp deep embossing you get when using Texture Fades. I then scribbled on the Distress Crayons...wet my finger to blend them together and took a slightly damp piece of kitchen roll to wipe the colour back from the embossed areas. I then applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium to seal the surface ready for stamping and heat embossing.
I inked the Halftone and Rings Cling Stamp with Versamark Ink, stamped randomly, sprinkled with Ranger White Embossing Powder and heat to set. I also used the Ledger Script stamp inked with Black Archival Ink to stamp small sections (sorry forgot to take a photo at that stage)
I die cut flowers with the Sizzix Tim Holtz Wildflowers Thinlits Die from black cardstock and Distress Woodgrain Card which is already embossed...fixed the black flowers flat on the card and popped the Woodgrain flowers on to 3d foam to create some dimension.
I sprinkled a mixture of Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamels over the surface and heated from underneath until melted.
I tore a thin strip of vellum and embossed the "Carte Postale" wording
before fixing across the bottom of the card. I coloured the Crinkle Ribbon with Picked Raspberry Distress Spray Stain to create a double bow.  I edged the card with Walnut Stain Distress Crayon before fixing to the card blank.

  5. Hi Kath,
I feel there's a world of crafting that has floated right past me when I wasn't looking so mentions of Frantage just go over my head! I see that, once I've come out of the corner and removed my dunce cap, I need to do some serious studying to see just what fun I'm missing out on.
The card looks great...so much going on there to explore...I love it!
