and the theme for this week is...
IT'S A DOG'S LIFE
I created an Art Journal page featuring the motley crew of canine friends that I and my Furry Companion meet on our morning stroll in the forest, a bunch of lovable hooligans and each one a character...
I created the journal page from Distress Watercolor card and used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stitched Ovals Thinlits to make the apertures...
then it was time to add some colour using Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks...the usual smooshing, drying and spritzing with water...I continued to smoosh, dry and spritz until I was happy with the coverage and then added Vintage Photo Distress Ink randomly on the background using a blending tool...
I stamped the dog lead image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Crazy Dogs using Ranger Potting Soil Archival Ink around the edges...
I selected scraps of paper from the Idea-ology Memoranda Paper Stash to fit behind the apertures...
and stamped a selection of Crazy Dogs with Ranger Potting Soil Archival Ink.
I die cut the dogs using the matching Tim Holtz/Sizzix matching set of Framelits, trimmed them down to fit the apertures and coloured them with Distress Inks, just simple colouring using a blending tool...
Once I had the dogs in place, I fixed the scraps of paper behind and created faux stitching around the apertures using a Faber Castell Pitt Black Pen.
Let me introduce you to:
Molly the Golden Lab, Bruno the Chocolate Lab and Jake the Schnauzer...
Scruff, the Heinz 57 Varieties gentleman of the group and Minnie the Daschund...
and last but not least, Bella, a mix of Schnauzer and Border Terrier, hence her unusual colour...
I covered the dogs with scraps of copy paper and splattered White Gesso over the background (I know, should have done it before I fixed the dogs in place). I stamped the page title with Black Soot Distress Paint using Idea-ology Lower Block Cling Foam Stamps...
continued the stitched theme on the letters using a Signo Uniball Opaque White Pen, added Idea-ology Label Letters and an Idea-ology Typed Token.
